sorry about that i was in a hurry what i meast say was that galdos likes to be captain obvious when testing the aquatos like bringing up maliguila and that auggi is kind of adoupted
OH, bringing up the obvious! I get it. The typing of obvious just made it really hard for me to understand.
I think she'd not really be able to get to the aquatos with the adopted line, since Augustus loves his mom-aunt, and it's not like he was abandoned on a doorstep like she says Chell was.
GLaDOS is trying to use common things that people wouldn't like to hear, but the thing is, these guys don't really care about those things.
(as a valvonauts counter, since that au still exists: She can't use the usual bit on Scout either. He's much easier to call an annoying little pest, a rat, like she would with Doug, who's kind of both Sheegor and Fred there. Doug is also mocked due to his schizophrenia and the information in his file-- partially due to being a scientist, he's going to be attacked mercilessly. And, well, Scout's just a lil brat intruding in her space.)

I have the “is that really what you think of me?” scene on the brain,,, could I see that but Valvonauts?
The main reason your request took so long was because I was being lazy u-u
Like. I wrote that line above on the 11th, and it's just now getting more, sort of lazy.
Scout jumped from platform to platform, balcony to balcony, barely keeping ahead of the flames below him. He glanced up at the angry figure as he crawled onto the catwalks, shaking and coughing. He could barely see her through the smoke, but he could hear her scolding him again.
"Ma, c'mon, please... Just... It's not..." he begged, barely sitting up. Finally, the throbbing in his temples stopped, and a new figure burst into the scene.
"Jer-bear, sweetie, oh thank god!" a thick Boston accent proclaimed, and a set of cold arms wrapped around him. He sniffled, and buried his head in the shoulder closest to him as the arms lifted him up, a familiar person-- his mother, one of his favorite people-- holding him close once more. "I was so worried about you, baby... Your mind-- They say it's in here with another woman's, are you alright? You could've been hurt--"
"Bah. Like it matters. He's been cavorting with psychics," the other woman chided. "Dilly-dallying with fortune-tellers. Wasting his time on this when he could have stayed and helped with the diner."
"Wh... Oh, god, Jer, is that... is that what you think of me?" his ma asked. Scout shook his head.
"I-- I'm sorry, I'm really sorry, ma--"
"No. Don't apologize to me, sweetie, you don't need to. Right now..." She aimed her hand, and moved it like the knockback of a gun. A psi-blast shot out, a curveball aimed directly at the opposition's face. The noise that rang out could only be compared to the sound of a bat smacking into someone's face, followed by screams as she toppled off the catwalks. Finally, there was a moment of peace, and Raven finally drew back from their hug.
"...Ma, you're...?"
"Psychic. Just like you, and just like your pa. It's nothin' t' be ashamed of, Jeremy."
Scout sniffled, and he barely stopped the tears from falling. All he could do was hold her hand, and hope for the best.
"It's not over yet. The show has only just begun!"
"Are you actually capable of not lying for ten seconds?" for like… maybe Scout and Spy? Vn or normal, your choice
You and I both know it's a VN kinda mood.
He knew the day would come when he'd have to face his family again. He just didn't expect it to be so soon.
Staring at the boy just outside of the isolation chamber, he could see the similarities between him and the woman he had left behind-- the bat, those green eyes, even the buckteeth. Before the boy could speak up and ask questions, Spy stood, straightened his tie and mask, and vanished.
Easier to avoid him for just a minute longer.
~
When he arrived at the Heptadome to find Sniper there, he expected the Australian to sling his usual insults. What he didn't expect was what so quickly followed.
"So this is where ya ran off t', huh? Got scared an' ran away here."
That boy from before was back, his arms crossed, tapping his foot.
"Mission first," Spy ordered, "mad later."
"Mad later?! What's that s'pposed t' mean?!"
"You saw Tavish back there-- if we don't get him help, everyone could die. Focus on that first."
The kid balled up his fists, his improperly wrapped hands barely covered enough to keep him from digging his nails into his skin.
"Fine. But the next time, I got questions, and ya gotta sit there and answer me. No runnin' off, no ignorin' me, nothin'."
Spy said nothing-- only ignored him.
~
While he worked to set up a new office, the familiar voice of the scanner told him all he needed to know.
"Scanning for Thinkerprint. Access granted. Welcome, Grand Head Doe."
He smiled slightly, and straightened up.
"Ah. Hello, Zhanna. I was just getting settled, but I'd have time to give a statement about the events of--"
As he turned around, he realized who truly stood there-- it wasn't Zhanna at all. There, once again, stood that same small boy, the one he had seen so long ago and then never again.
"I hope ya got time t' give a statement." The boy snapped his fingers, letting the door shut behind him as he walked closer. "I got questions, an' ya said ya'd answer. Mad later. It's frickin' later." He pulled his hat down, then glared at Spy, forming a levitation ball to reach his eye level. "You frickin' abandoned Ma. I get wantin' t' leave my brothers. I can even get it 'bout me. But Ma? Who… who do ya think you are? She's done nothin' but help me an' my brothers all my life. She ain't got a bad bone in her-- she still frickin' loves you, an' I don't get it. But she's my frickin' Ma. And-- An' if ya wanna hurt her like that, ya got a big storm comin'!"
He threw the first punch, slamming right into Spy's nose. It would be a lie to say he hadn't seen some sort of yelling coming, but the punch caught him off guard. He stumbled slightly, clutching his nose to check for blood as the boy's shoulders trembled with his shaking breaths.
"That's for my ma! And-- An' if ya think ya deserve another chance, she's-- she's the one ya gotta say sorry to."
The levitation ball vanished under his feet, and the boy barely caught his footing. He took a loud, sniffling inhale, and he pointed his bat at Spy, even though he couldn't hold it straight with just one hand.
"I ain't gonna take anythin' from ya-- Ya can't even stop lyin' for even ten seconds! Ya didn't tell me who ya were, ya didn't tell me cr-p! I just-- everyone says Uncle Finn was a monster, but-- But it's you. You-- you big jerk!"
Scout's voice broke a few times, but he took his bat with him as he fled from the room. Spy didn't try to follow.
Scout wouldn't listen anyways. No reason to chase after him. After all, as he had said, he wasn't the one that needed an apology.
He reached into his pocket, finding the old charm with ease. It was time to get that back to its rightful owner, even as his nose dripped blood onto his perfectly polished floors. That could wait-- he had a true mission to carry out.
You know I’m a sucker for Lobotdos, can we get a story about her and the rest of the Aperture crew going shopping for new clothes??
Oh, of course, Cecil. I'd be happy to ^_^
Everyone else who's looking: This is Valvonauts post-story, the characters are from Portal and from the mod Portal Stories: Mel, and the ships are platonic or qpps.
Doug looked more uncomfortable by the day, and the clothes he was stuck wearing thanks to no one else having even close to his size didn't help. Where the clothes fit Barney perfectly, they looked terrible on Doug and his lanky, malnourished frame. Lobotdos had been much luckier with Helen's outfits, and Mel had been fine with the tracksuits from Alyx, but Doug and Aegis had barely anywhere they could look for clothing in the Motherlobe, which was only made worse by the lockdown. The instant it was lifted, the quartet already had made plans to find some new clothes-- Anything other than hand-me-downs from those around them.
The cab ride to the mall was, to say the least, peculiar-- not that Doug blamed the driver for looking uncomfortable, with the picture they cut-- After all, he hadn't even gotten a haircut, (he had accepted a shave nevertheless) Aegis's visor was bizarre tech to anyone outside of Aperture, Mel's wheelchair had been folded in the back, and Lobotdos was... Well, she was who she was.
Even though, they made their way there, freezing just outside.
"...This is much bigger than I expected," Doug admitted as he helped Mel get her wheelchair onto the sidewalk.
"Perfect!! It'll be easier to get us the right clothes then, Douglas!" Lobotdos took his hand, and she dragged him ahead of the other two. Aegis and Mel followed just behind them and into the large building.
"...Where do we even start?" Mel asked no one in particular. "Is there a sports store here?"
"Well, you could always ask."
"Eh, I'll find it." She rolled away, waving at them as she went. "I've got money to spend, I'll see you guys in a couple hours."
Aegis nodded, taking the money he had been given out of his pocket. He stared at the signs, taking them in, and nodded. "There is a store for men down this hallway. I will follow Melanie's advice and return to this location with new clothes in two hours." He strode off confidently, narrowly missing a kiosk in the middle of the path. Doug winced at the thought.
"...And then there were two." Lobotdos looked at the map of the mall, then at Doug.
"...I think we should stay together," he said simply. "You can get yours first. I just want something simple--"
"Nonsense! You're more in need. We're going to find you something fantastic." She pulled him along again, guiding him through the hallways and to the shops that carried things he remembered-- Polos, khaki pants, button-ups, simple work boots. Lobotdos let him go just outside of one, grinning as she put her hands on her hips. "Here we are!"
"...You don't have to stay with me if you don't want--"
"It's completely alright, Douglas. It makes you more comfortable. Let's go." She walked through the doorway, and Doug followed after, smiling slightly.
It didn't take very long for him to find a new set of clothes-- or, rather, ten of them and two pairs of work boots, enough to last him a while. Most of them looked mostly identical to the naked eye, but he didn't mind. The routine was comforting. One quick check-out was followed by changing into his new clothes, and they walked out together a new man and a very happy doctor.
"See? I told you it'd be perfect!"
"You sure did," he admitted. "Let's go find you something, then we can see if we have time to do something else."
He led the way this time, nearly dancing around people where she had cut a clear path, and they found another pair of shops-- One with lab equipment, and another with dresses and other women's clothing.
"I'll get you the perfect lab coat and meet you in a minute, okay?" Doug offered. Lobotdos nodded, and she took off into the women's clothing store. Doug entered the second, checking over their selection for the best ones-- both for safety and for comfort. He bought a pair of one of them, then took off down the hall, ducking into yet another store.
There was one thing he needed to find first...
They reunited just a bit later, and he handed her one of the two he had bought, keeping the other for himself. She tossed it over the top of the dress she was trying on, and smoothed it out before nodding. Doug cleared his throat.
"There's one more thing, but you need to sit down and close your eyes." She did as he asked, and he took the latest thing out of his pocket, wrapping it around her neck and tying it in a knot. "There you go. Open your eyes and take a look."
For once, her smile wasn't even slightly tinged with bitterness as she looked in the mirror.
"...I thought it'd help."
"I... thank you, Douglas. It really does help. Thank you."
G10 with VN!Jane or VN!Tavish? You can use any colors!
Here you go, Owl! I decided to find a pallet from the comics, then added a little flair with the shading. I imagine this is Jane realizing that Tavish really doesn’t recognize him, and the heartbreak in that moment.
ooooh what about the valvonauts au for the marshmallow roast
Good question, anon!
Barney also likes to keep a bit away from the fire. He smokes weed to chill out with his boyfriend.
Gordon is just vibing with Barney
Admin is making sure the kids are being fair and not getting hurt.
Scout's hogging the marshmallows; Pauling's trying to get him to stop.
Sometimes Rick steals the marshmallows to give them to others.
Marcel is just reading his book by the fire and gets anxious whenever the fire sparks up.
Olivia and Katie are having a good time telling stories by the fire. Olivia finds scary stories funny; Katie thinks it's just normal.
Nigel is sticking by Grant and Carmen, avoiding the fire as best he can. He likes the chocolate.
Grant and Opeth are busy making music.
Carmen isn't interested in this. At all.
Liz is busy making everyone else perfectly golden-brown marshmallows. :)
Graham and Onathan either get into an argument or aren't allowed at the marshmallow roast because of earlier issues. Though Graham likes the crackers, since he finds it funny to be named that.
Ray is too busy talking to make marshmallows.
Ellis is likely to steal the marshmallows for himself as well.
There might be some other campers, but we're still working out who is where.
