† elliott’s quest to view (almost) every vampire film ever † [7/103] ↳ martin (1977)
I like the idea of clinical or psychological vampirism; it’s a shame more movies don’t run with the idea. ★★★☆☆

† elliott’s quest to view (almost) every vampire film ever † [7/103] ↳ martin (1977)
I like the idea of clinical or psychological vampirism; it’s a shame more movies don’t run with the idea. ★★★☆☆
† elliott’s quest to view (almost) every vampire film ever † [40/103] ↳ bliss (2019)
The beauty of Bliss's effects, camerawork, and leading woman Dora Madison aren't enough to break the monotony of sex, drugs and rock'n'roll. If you like your horror shallow, Bliss is a fun ride best experienced intoxicated. ★★★★☆
† elliott’s quest to view (almost) every vampire film ever † [43/103] ↳ blacula (1972)
I wanted very much to enjoy Blacula more but since I was hoping for a revenge film (or at least more of a focus on Mamuwalde) I was disappointed. ★★★☆☆
† elliott’s quest to view (almost) every vampire film ever † [42/103] ↳ bram stoker’s dracula (1992)
Dracula (1992) may be a pretty movie, but I saw zero chemistry between Oldman and Ryder, so for me the love story emphasis fell flat. ★★☆☆☆
† elliott’s quest to view (almost) every vampire film ever † [39/103] ↳ bit (2019)
Similar to Lost Boys, Bit is fun and superficial, a movie for people who don't take their vampire media too seriously. ★★★☆☆
† elliott’s quest to view (almost) every vampire film ever † [44/103] ↳ the lost boys (1987)
As an 80s period piece? Astounding. As a vampire film? Barf. I’m tired of 80s vamp films focusing on human children. ★★☆☆☆
† elliott’s quest to view (almost) every vampire film ever † [38/103] ↳ the wisdom of crocodiles (1998)
If Crocodiles had focused solely on either Grlscz’ police investigation or his romance with Anne, it might have been a solid movie. Trying to do both (and adding in some action sequence buffoonery where otherwise exists an art film) muddied my enjoyment of it. ★★★☆☆
† elliott’s quest to view (almost) every vampire film ever † [36/103] ↳ fright night (2011)
Even an endearing cast doesn’t make this one more than passable, and the CGI leaves a lot to be desired. Why not just use practical effects and makeup? ★★★☆☆
