A Vampire and a Werewolf Mentoring Two Kids
These ideas came to mind after talking to @lycuriz about this paranormal au. These headcanons happen before Francis and Arthur meet Ludwig so it’ll be fruk/face family centric.
Around 14-15 years old, Matthew gets bitten by a vampire
Alfred, his brother, is there that night and sees it all. He vows to keep his brother’s secret safe and becomes very protective of him.
While out in the woods trying to find something for Matthew to drink, they come face to face with a werewolf and in protecting his brother, Alfred gets bitten
The two return home in a panic. Matthew does his best to tend to the bite.
Alfred, being scared and impulsive proposes they have to run away before their parents find out. Matthew suggests they wait until things calm down and discuss all their options. So they carry on and hide what they are for a little while.
Eventually, during a full moon, Alfred in his wolf form gets spooked by his parents and ends up almost attacking them but Matt intervenes
Their parents realize what their children have become, but before anything can be said, Alfred runs away and Matt follows after him
They find shelter in a nearby cave and sleep there for the night
Alfred says they can't go home the next morning. Even if their parents accept them, there is going to be an accident. Matt can't help but agree and so they set off into the woods with two backpacks and the little money they have
After a few days of travel they come upon the town Francis and Arthur reside in
Francis and Arthur come across the boys during a hunt. Francis immediately senses that Al and Matt are supernatural beings and becomes very concerned to find young kids out in the woods alone. Francis immediately tells his concerns to Arthur and Arthur tries to stop him from jumping to conclusions.
Matt, similar to Francis, is able to sense that Arthur and Francis are supernatural creatures as well
Alfred is on guard and protective and Matthew too is on edge
Francis asks where their parents are-> the boys answer defensively at first, but eventually, Mattie decides to open up about what happened, hoping these supernatural creatures can help them in some way
Francis is moved and immediately whispers to Arthur that they have to do something. Arthur is hesitant, but he also knows what it’s like to be an outcast because of what you’ve become, so he agrees. The two end up taking Alfred and Matthew out to eat at a local restaurant since Alfred hasn’t really eaten a proper meal in a few days and is really hungry.
After, Francis proposes the boys come and stay at his and Arthur’s house because he can’t let these kids sleep on the street-> Matt and Al are hesitant because these two men are strangers, but they also don’t want to sleep out in the cold
After a few days of getting used to each other, Matthew finally starts asking Francis for advice about being a vampire. In the end, Francis starts teaching him all kinds of things about being a vampire from powers to the best sources of food.
Francis suggests to Arthur that he try mentoring Alfred. Arthur protests since not even he knows a lot about being a werewolf, plus, Alfred seems on guard and thus not interested in interacting with them. But Arthur agrees to at least talk to Afonso to get some advice to potentially give to Alfred.
As expected Al isn’t too keen on being mentored. But on a full moon night, Arthur ends up supporting Alfred through his transformation despite the pain of his own transformation. After that, Alfred starts opening up to Arthur and the two begin to explore what it means to be a werewolf and how best to deal with it. Not only is Alfred learning stuff, Arthur is too (and he starts to accept himself and the fact he’s a werewolf).
Al and Matt end up staying with Francis and Arthur for about 5 years. With their powers in check and their new found maturity, Alfred and Matthew decide to reach out to their parents. Upon the boys’ request, Francis and Arthur join them in this meeting for moral support in case things go awry.
Luckily it went way better than expected. Their parents are just happy to have their boys back and are very grateful for Francis and Arthur and all their help.
Arthur starts to wonder if he should reach out to his siblings again. Francis agrees to support him in whatever he decides.
Arthur and Francis still keep in contact with Matt and Al and they often invite the boys and their family over for holidays.
