Omg but what if the first time vampire Hotch feeds from Reid is at the gun range? They have to get all up close and personal as Hotch helps him and he hasn’t fed in a little while keeps getting distracted by Reid’s long, pale neck. Reid notices and starts purposely tilting his neck or fucking up his posture so that Hotch has to get close and correct him until finally he realizes Hotch won’t make that first move so he shyly tells him that he can feed from him. And Hotch may have a lot of self-control, but it all goes out the window then as he quickly gathers Reid in his arms (after securing the gun) and bites down into his neck.
I feel like @katytheinspiredworkaholic and @spencehotchner would enjoy this ask so much. I've been told that they enjoy the entire Hotchreid gun-range scene a little too much (lmao Katy).
I freaking love this idea so much though. Reid being a little shit by purposefully messing up, pushing Hotch just enough that they're now in this position where he knows that Aaron can smell, can hear, can practically taste the blood that is racing through his veins- his adrenaline high and breathing hitched.
Ugh, Anon, I love you. Thank you for this image <3 (Katy I dare you to take this and run with it. If anyone can do it, I know you and Cee can!)
So when Hotch feeds, I always picture his arms wrapped quite tightly around Reid. Not enough to injure or crush, but enough to hold him still and it’s because of some ancient vampire instinct that expects his prey to struggle. Except, of course Reid never struggles, cuz he fully consents to this, it’s just some weird vampire quirk. But Reid actually loves it. He can’t move and he’s surrounded by Aaron, pressed into his hard chest while the man feeds. He feels helpless in a way that is actually quite electrifying. At first he thought this would upset him, because of his experiences with Hankel, but there’s something intoxicating about feeling restrained while also knowing he’s completely safe because he can always trust Aaron. He’s able to just float while he lets Aaron takes what he needs.
I freaking love this so much.
Aaron holding Spencer in his strong arms, the two of them nestled into the couch on the jet while everyone else is playing cards (trying to give them some semblance of privacy). Spencer is literally cornered, back pressed into the crease of the couch cushions as Aaron is almost on top of him, protective of his "prey." It's a comfort to Aaron that Spencer can't wiggle free (he doesn't know why, but he doesn't question it at the moment).
Spencer should feel afraid, especially when he can feel the sharpness of Aaron's fangs teasing his skin, taunting the pulse point as he noses for the perfect spot to feed from. But he's not. He feels safest here in Aaron's grip, his body completely relaxed, his head lulled to the side to offer his long and pale neck, eyes closed and breathing steady.
Like you said, it's intoxicating. It's addicting. It's heaven on earth when those fangs finally breach his vein, the smallest pinch of pain being nothing in comparison to the sense of pure euphoria and bliss that floods his system. It starts in his throat and trickles through his whole body, tingles of pleasure coursing through him until his toes curl and his fingers twitch. His breathing picks up a little, a groan escaping his chest unprompted.
The rest of the team tries to ignore it. It's always a little weird to be in the room when this happens because it feels like something that should be private. Especially when they have the time to take it slow (so Spencer doesn't get lightheaded or dizzy. Can't take too much blood too fast or he'll get sick, you know?). Aaron will take a whole hour to feed from Spencer if they have the time, being slow and languid, taking small breaks to place kisses around the bite mark, to nuzzle along Spencer's jaw, and to check in and make sure his "donor" is still okay.
(this is kinda hot and I need to write about it in better detail)
Okay. Okay. Hear me out. Spencer is a vampire. And nobody knows (except Diana ofc). So he tells Gideon and Gideon is weird about it and then he leaves and Spencer is heartbroken cause his only semi-reliable father figure left and didn’t really accept him. (I live for Gideon slander I apologize.) So so- The team sees that Spencer’s feeling down and when they ask about it (it probs takes a while and several times of asking) everything comes out and then BAM! Found family, absolutely no romance, just 10/10 family dynamics cause y e s
BAU AS FAMILY! BAU AS FAMILY! (I also live for Gideon slander, so you're welcome here!)
I love BAU as family fics so much. Even though I tend to lean towards romance in these asks, the found family trope will always be, hands down, my favorite trope of all time.
Reid would be so devastated when Gideon leaves, because he thinks he left because of him. "He couldn't handle knowing what I am." He struggles for a couple of months, not drinking as much blood as he should ("maybe I can wean myself off of it? and be normal?"), and he's definitely not doing well. The team notices, worries he's doing drugs or drinking too much or something.
Finally, Penelope comes up with a plan. They have a "party" at Rossi's (who is still getting used to this new team, but he's starting to fit in more and more with each passing day). Derek forces Spencer to come, going out of his way to pick up the kid from his apartment. "Come on, Pretty Boy. We haven't spent time together outside of work in months. Just do this, for me?"
"Fine," Spencer mumbles, slipping his shoes on and numbly following Derek to his car. The whole drive is silent, Spencer's forehead leaning against the window. He feels weak, sluggish, depressed. Nobody will ever accept him for who--what-- he is. Nobody will ever love him beyond his mind. He's only useful to this team because of his intelligence. He'll always be alone, always--
"Hey, Pretty Ricky, we're here."
Spencer slowly crawls out of the car, squinting at the literal mansion that towers over him and Derek. "Wow."
"Yeah," Derek chuckles, "Come on. I bet Prentiss is already half a bottle deep into some wine."
But instead of the party he was expecting, Spencer is greeted with the team standing around the kitchen, chatting, drinking wine, smiling. Penelope pulls him into a hug and offers him a glass, which he takes hesitantly (he doesn't like drinking alcohol- it doesn't really do anything for him anyways-- wait). He sniffs the wine. This isn't wine.
He looks up at the team in shock.
"This is... blood?"
Hotch is sipping from his own glass (his is definitely wine, not blood, lol). Penelope nods, "Yeah. I um, did some research. You were acting all weird and sad, and you got super pale- and I mean like, paler than normal pale for you- and one time I swore I saw fangs so like-" she interrupts herself and smiles sheepishly, "Well, I found out what you are. And we wanted to show you that we still love you, and we're not scared of you. And we wanna help you, with whatever it is you're going through."
And Spencer just... cries. He smiles, setting the wine glass down and hugging Penelope. Because the team knows. They know he's a monster, but they threw this... party? For him? To tell him that they accept him? And they love him?
Then we get a whole group hug because I am cheesy. And Spencer just feels these intense emotions coursing through him and he can't contain them, just breaking down into sobs as his knees buckle and the team holds him up.
Vampire Reid- he’s originally from Vegas and loves the warm weather but now that he’s a vampire it’s very difficult for him to keep warm. Hotch, however, is like a human furnace so without fail Hotch wakes up every morning to Reid wrapped tightly around him along with blankets wrapped around them and his nose pressed into the crook of Aaron’s neck
;u; Spencer is thin and pale and smol and it's hard to stay warm anyways (there is a reason for his multiple layers of sweaters and clothes). But as a Vampire, it's like a billion times worse (Aaron rolled his eyes at this description because Spencer was being a tad dramatic).
Aaron secretly loves it though. Loves waking up to his lanky boyfriend koala-ed around him, blankets and pillows piled on top of him to try and keep warm. Loves when they're in the conference room and Spencer can't help but push up against him in an attempt to steal his warmth. Especially loves when they're on the jet and Spencer lets his guard down long enough to curl up against Aaron as much as he can (even going as far as climbing into his lap if necessary).
There's just something so sweet and enduring about this younger man who's supposed to be a scary monster (Vampires have a bad rep, you know), but can't even tie his shoe without losing balance. And needing to be held to fall asleep. And just... yeah. Aaron loves his clingy vampire boyfriend <3
When they’re on a case Hotch can’t drink from Reid for prolonged times like they usually do so whenever they have a moment he just takes like little sips whenever/wherever is convenient. Like I just picture them going over evidence or files or whatever with the team, and without even a word Hotch will just gently take Reid’s wrist and bring it to his mouth, maybe places a little kiss there before he nips, breaking the skin and taking the quickest drink before going right back to what they were doing. At this point the team is just used to it cuz Hotch has to eat too if he’s gonna be on his game.
🥺 and Reid sometimes has to remind Hotch that he needs to feed so he’ll nudge Hotch to get his attention when they’re all looking over the profile, and he offers his wrist when the older man finally glances up from the mountain of paperwork and files and photos of dead girls. And Hotch gives Reid this small smile, cause he knows that Reid is just trying to take care of him.
And Hotch giving a small kiss to the spot first- my heart. Reid’s always a little distracted while it’s happening, but the second Hotch is finished, licking over the wound to help it heal, they’re both back in business mode.
Yes gimmie the soft feels. This can be platonic or romantic- either way it’s soft and caring and I love how Reid is there for Hotch no matter what.
Oh fuck oh fuck okay I just had a thought: post feeding aftercare. Spencer is always in a weakened state after and Hotch takes such good care of him. Hotch is also super affectionate after he feeds. He bundles Reid up in a blanket, makes sure he’s comfortable and probably cuddles him a ton. Probs some forehead kisses and nuzzling as he whispers the sweetest things to him. Also he probably has a stash of juice and cookies for Reid and I just ugh, soft Hotch is everything.
YES YES YES! Aftercare in general is very important, kids. Please take care of your loved ones and give them lots of attention and kisses ;u; <3
Hotch just holding Spencer close, the younger man's nose nuzzled into the crook of his neck, inhaling his scent with a sleepy smile on his face. Aaron carding his fingers lazily through Spencer's hair, humming softly so the vibrations in his chest lull Spencer into this intimate feeling of safety and security. After some time he nudges Spencer's forehead with his nose, planting a kiss there before murmuring, "You need to eat something." Spencer, of course, grumbles because he doesn't want to be moved. He just wants to fall asleep like this, safe and warm and loved in Aaron's arms.
Aaron chuckles and adjusts them, so he's sitting up against the headboard with Spencer still snuggled into his side (practically koala-ed himself onto Aaron). He reaches for the snacks and water and juice that he had prepared on the nightstand, urging Spencer to "please sit up and eat this for me. I want you healthy."
After a mumbled, "Fine," Spencer sits up enough to drink from the juice box (he looks like such a little kid, his hair flopping in his face, lips wrapped around the little bendy straw-- it was Garcia's idea to get the juice boxes after all). Aaron just smiles at him, eyes full of adoration and love as he leans down and presses soft kisses along Spencer's temple, down his cheek, across his jaw, and towards his neck. Spencer is practically purring from the attention, pausing briefly to let out a giggle when Aaron playfully nips at his shoulder.
Okay but to go along with the vampire Reid always being cold ask: the team kind of collectively takes care of him? Keeping blankets and stuff around for him. And omg just thought: on the jet when Reid cuddles up in Hotch’s lap, Morgan totally takes pics and sends them to Garcia who 100% squeals with delight.
BAU as family, hands down, will always be my favorite thing. (A lot of things are my favorite things but this is def one of my favorite favorite things, okay?)
There's a drawer in a spare filing cabinet between Emily and Derek's desks that has two extra blankets and a pillow in it. Sometimes Emily might use a blanket when she stays later than normal, or JJ will steal the pillow to rest her eyes "for five minutes" (it turns into an hour) during one of those weeks that feels like it never ends. But they're primary use is for Spencer <3 When he's hunched over his paperwork, fingers twitching to resist the urge to pull his sweater around himself tighter, shoulders shaking a tiny bit every few minutes as he fights back against the feeling of cold settling into his bones. Derek pulls out the first blanket and just drops it on Spencer's head, laughing when the younger man glares at him and tries to chastise him for, "messing up my handwriting."
"Pretty boy, no offense by your handwriting is barely legible to begin with."
On the jet there are times were Spencer can't really cuddle up with Aaron (no matter how much they both want to). Sometimes it's due to injuries, or paperwork, or pure exhaustion. JJ started stocking the jet with extra blankets, a couple she bought herself (extra fuzzy and warm) just for Spence during those times.
Rossi has an electric blanket that he keeps in his office. For those times where it seems like nothing else can keep Spencer warm. He bought a second one for his house, for those dinner party nights where Spencer seems to crash before everyone else and falls asleep on the couch. (Almost always, somehow, Aaron finds himself with his arms full of shivering boyfriend on said couch, heated blanket covering them both, until Spencer's breathing evens out and his nose is pressed into the crook of Aaron's neck- and the shivering has stopped).
And yes, the amount of cute pictures Garcia has saved on her phone is ridiculous. But every single one of them is super important to her, so none of them will ever be erased.
