Taste Your Beating Heart (1)
Ship: Bobadinluke
Rating: Explicit
Summary: Captured and stripped of armor, Din is thrown into a cell with a man people whisper about in shadows- will he survive, or will he succumb to sharp fangs and bloodlust?
When Din first heard about Luke, he can't say that he ever expected this.
He expected a monster, a beast that masqueraded as a human in the daylight, not a skinny, malnourished waif of a man, hair greasy and eyes bloodshot. The fangs are a bit unnerving, but not unexpected, not after the whispers he'd heard while being dragged into the detention cell. He's a goner, one man had whispered as he stumbled by, beskar stripped from his body and either locked away or sold off completely. He feels naked, exposed by every breeze across his face and each shuffle of his bare feet against cold concrete.
The Jedi is going to tear him apart, another had sneered, eyes alight with anticipation when Din had turned his head to pin him a dark, lingering glare.
Din has heard that word, that title more in the last six months than he has in all the years he's been alive, and it's starting to grate on him. The last Jedi he'd met had maintained that she was no longer a part of that assembly, and had instead chosen to go her own way. Her way, meaning that Din was left fumbling again when she refused to take his son and keep him safe, show him how to be himself without harming others.
It had led him here, to a city forever drenched in rain and wailing wind, beskar gone and face bared to a hundred strangers.
"Hey," one person says as he comes by, staring through the thick, reinforced glass. "He's gonna kill you, you know."
"I know," he replies, voice quiet even as the guard at his back jabs him with the muzzle of his rifle. He never gets to say I'm counting on him trying before they're shuffling away, the man yelling past the wall of his cage.
"Make him work for it!"
Din certainly isn't planning on making it easy.
