I'm pretty sure the vampire AU might just be my Roman empire tbh, it and the affectionate Buck x Bucky dynamic there has such a steady grip on me. How Gale is having to constantly be in very tight control over what he let's people see, over his needs, and probably has never really been truly fully satisfied. Maybe wouldn't even know what satisfied is anymore, having spent much of his time more or less famished, maybe socially as well. And then Bucky just signs himself up for it like that, easy as anything. You can only donate blood so often, so its tricky to navigate, yet Bucky's still there, always there, and how Gale can pretty much resign himself to death by starvation with seemingly not that much fight, like he goes through depression when not fed while John is there practically begging him to suck all his blood ideally through his dick clean off. So good.
💕💕🥹 maaaan i wish there were more vampire AUs tbh! it was the first buckies fic that came to my mind bc it was such a good fit for how gale is the way he is, for exactly the reasons you mentioned. buttoned up tight, never satisfied, doesn’t even know what that means anymore…doesn’t talk about his childhood bc he plain doesn’t remember it, it’s been so long. bucky just wants to help him! and he holds power over gale in that without realizing.
in my mind palace story, after this, bucky gets into the habit of feeding gale while he’s asleep and also probably jerking off as he does it. he tries to space it out in the beginning so that gale doesn’t get suspicious but then he gets overzealous and goes two nights in a row and gale suddenly flies awake with a mouthful of sweet blood and john lying behind him, breathing hard and on the verge of coming and passing out at the same time—

Vampire Gale in solitary? Have we thought about that enough yet? Naturally he'd be treated unwell as it is without there being any knowledge or access to anything he'd actually need to survive. Sounds like a fun way to get him unwell!
ashdkjhf yessss solitary in the dulag and then also in the stalag. he goes a little crazy with the hunger. algeria was nothing compared to this hunger. maybe he finally nips at one of the guards when they're shoving him back into his cell, some terrible long-controlled instinct finally popping loose, and gets the butt of a gun to the face for it. also the guard tastes like shit, so gale spits into the corner and tries not to think about john. tries not to think about how easily john had offered himself up as if it was just something casual, only he didn't take his eyes off gale the whole time. john would taste incredible. john would let him. john would probably make him do it! john john john. and even in the haze gale has so much self-loathing bc he told himself that he was NOT gonna do it again, and also he wouldn't trust himself to stop in this state.
and then he's released probably right before john's arrival/this.
