Characters I did for a game from Vampire: The Masquerade Jam.
What are you willing to do? Who are you willing to trust?
A friend and I created this visual novel last year for the vampire game jam.
It’s a short Visual Novel about Paige, a thinblooded vampire with nothing to lose, who tries to change their destiny.
If you haven’t already, give it a spin.
TW: This game features descriptions of violence, abuse and death as well as depictions of blood.
Vampire: The Masquerades Jam Session
An indie game in a month
By Jacky-lulu
The last time there was any news on Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2, it was a brand new year. Now a whole year has passed, and VtM2 is still dead silent. Last we heard from Paradox Interactive is that the Hardsuit Labs will no longer be working on VtM2. With this news, people were worried if VtM2 would ever see its release.
That is until the end of September came, and 'World of Darkness' came up with a 'Month of Darkness' event full of news, activities and fan interactions. From a list of prompts for each day of October for creators and asking them to add the hashtag #Vamptober. Creators are then rewarded for showing up on the Vamily Spotlight. Then finally, we got a new trailer drop on September 30th.
However, the 'Dark Pack' event has brought about the most excitement, on October 30th. WoD has officially sanctioned its intellectual property for fans to create and share these creators for non-commercial use. However, the most significant event for the 'Dark Packed' would have to be the Vampire: The Masquerade Jam, starting October 30th at 6:00 pm and ending November 29th at the same time.
With indie games growing into popularity thanks in part to the wild success of; 'Five Nights at Freddy's,' 'Undertale,' 'Amnesia: The Dark Descent,' 'Hades,' and 'Deltarune,' the WoD has organized the 'Vampire Jam,' Officially and even offered prizes to the top contestants. Outside of the usual monetary rewards, WoD plans to provide the winner with a chance to collaborate with their Brand Team to release the indie game alongside VtM2. The winner's game will be released as a free title on Steam and become a part of the World of Darkness franchise, next to all the officially licensed titles that already stand the test of time.
WoD has set the competition to have three winners. First place will win $1000 USD, collaborations with WoD Brand Team and the steam release, early access to Hunter: The Reckoning and the complete digital Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition library to date.
Second place will get $750 USD, early access to Hunter: The Reckoning and the complete digital Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition library to date, the same as first place. Where third place will get $500 USD and early access and the library.
WoD has also gathered select resources that will prove to be helpful to game creators with a month's time crunch. Official V5 Art Parks, a Pixel library, and many other free resources for music and engines.
The end of 'Month of Darkness' is set for November when the voting for these games is announced. Until then, be sure to check out the official page of the Vampire Jam; for those who yearn to join, we wish for the best of luck and for those who look forward to the creativity of the bold prepare the popcorn and candy corn. This Halloween is going to be a fantastic event.
