Amir can feel the way she shakes, fingers brushing his hair aside. A tremor when her kiss finds the back of his neck—the hint of a tear against his skin along with it.
Her voice, low and cracked when she speaks, hardly above a whisper, "Oh, my darling…"
It was torture, the restraint she fought to hold as her lips paint across his flesh; the way he willingly presents himself before her when she maneuvers to drape herself across his thighs.
She finds his pulse point, tongue pressing into the skin, the taste of him already tantalizing—when her fangs brush the skin, he jolts beneath her, a gasp slipping between parted lips.
It pulls her momentarily, back to her senses—drawing back, she practically chokes back a sob, her kiss still ghosting his neck, "I'm sorr—"
