Fear, Jealousy and Food.
There were still traces of blood underneath his fingernails and thus he decided to paint them a dark shade of black to conceal it before he went outside. Once outside he noticed how the golden light of sunset blanched the streets a deep orange. It wouldn't be long now before the vampires here came out to prey on humans in bars or clubs. He secretly hoped that with that little scent of blood his fingers spread he would attract them, knowing that they probably would try to pick a fight with him for his.. differences.
Pieces of music escaped several places throughout the city as their doors opened and closed and he was wondering where he should go tonight when suddenly he heard two heated voices having a quite passionate conversation. The lampposts lit up rather empty streets quite good, so it was easy to spot a small group of five humans getting closer to a fight every second. He kept in the shadows as he closed in to them without a sound.
"It's not your place to tell me what to do Neal! You're not my father!" The person called Neal, a quite tall, blond haired young man sighed as he said with a softer voice than the first person. "Look, Jason, I'm just trying to look out for you and I know for a fact that there are strange things in that place." Jason scoffed and turned to his friend and said with annoyance dripping from his lips. "You hear that, he's a fucking chicken. Come on let's just go." Neal sighed and decided to give up walking back inside of the bar they stood in front of and probably came out of before that.
When Jason and his friend started to come his way he stepped out of the shadows and blocked their paths. "Hello boys~" He wiggled his fingers at them causing them to raise their eyebrows in surprise. "What do you want?" Jason said in his earlier example of rudeness. "I couldn't help but overhear you and Neal's.. discussion." He smiled at this his straight white teeth almost glowing in the dark. "What? You're eavesdropping on strangers?" He chuckled and moved so quick that his body turned to a blur. He snapped his companions neck and before he dropped to the floor he held Jason's and pressed him against a wall. "Neal was right you know. There are strange things out there. Dangerous things, like me."
A loud scream cut through the silence of the seemingly peaceful city as he began to drain him. Blood ran from Jason's neck over his shoulder. chest and back and over Blain's chin. When people came rushing out of the dinner to have a look there were just two limp bodies on the floor, one with a broken neck but one deeply sleeping or so it seemed. He passed out but was still breathing however and the peoples screams and shouts were even audible six blocks away where he made his way through a dark alley.
A whistle caught his attention and he turned around seeing a quite pale young man standing in the alleyway looking at him with cold, empty eyes. "You're that daywalker aren't you?" He said without beating around the bush. Blain's eyebrow rose and he asked curiously. "Do you really think you, a mere fledgeling can take me?" Laughs, more than one then were audible when he said that and there were more vampires now surrounding him, six perhaps. It was clear that they were young from the way they behaved and one suddenly shouted. "Isn't this the abomination the king mentioned?" One of the others pointed at him and said with rage in his tone. "This bad-blood bastard was sentenced to die right? So let's get him and the reward! He can't take all six of us. No matter how old he is!" Blain spread his arms as if welcoming them home and said with a tired yet amused voice. "Let us commence."
When the vampires started to move so did he, he was much faster and stronger than these younglings that one of their cute little faces rested in his cold hand already. When their eyes met he winked and slammed his head into a wall making it's skull crack. While its owner collapse to the ground just to stand up in an hour after regenerating he spun toward the other vampires that approached him and they succeeded in grabbing both his arms to hold him in place. A third vampire thrusted a stake toward his heart but he spun making him pierce on of his friends hearts and killing him. His now free right arm pierced through the other vampire holding his left arm's stomach forcing him to let go. The sixth and fifth vampire rushed toward him but he decided that would be better to leave and so he spun and left them behind him taking of his ruined shirt as soon as he hit the edge of the city making his way through the woods beside it. He knew there were creatures here that vampires liked to avoid and thus that he would be safe here. Not that most of them posed a real threat but there were a handful that could cause him trouble which he rather avoided.
Pushing his dark brown hair out of his face he sat down against a tree and his icy blue eyes looked around to ensure his safety before he closed them and chuckled. Even after more than three-hundred years the vampires did not leave him alone and it had been about a century since he killed random humans on the street like he did not too long ago. He couldn't help but feel good, he enjoyed the vampires their jealousy and the human's their fear which gave their blood a little bit of a bitter taste as if to taint it. The human blood still pumping through him made him feel rather good about himself and hunger for more. However unlike three centuries ago he did not utterly exsanguinate humans anymore. They were a greater cause now, not just blood bags but they should also repopulate to make sure his food did not deplete utterly.
