in reference to this post on my main, i present you, the girls of st. philomena's!

this only counts for 2/5, as jez (the gal on the left, see no evil) already has 6 pieces of art but. the triptych wouldn't look right without her

these three were gifted to me over the years + i thought they suited each other! i've had a bit of a story kicking around for them + this gave them a chance to rotate around in my brain a bit. so now i've got a Lotta Ideas vibrating in my head and i have Not stopped to sort thru them

tl;dr something something demons infiltrating a catholic school in the 1980s... possibly with human glamours, only able to be seen by other demons or angels... manipulation, espionage, lies between friends, etc....

jezebel (og designer) is kind of the odd one out in the group to me... i'm still trying to figure out where she fits, but i think, in the process of making this image, i've decided she's the mage of the three... the one responsible for keeping up their glamours, covering their tracks + true intentions, carrying out damaris's instructions.

damaris (og designer) is the leader of the three. her nickname is mary. she's a black goat and is the one to hear orders directly from their higher ups. her job is to delegate tasks to jezebel and keep an eye on salome. she can be callous, cold, and frankly abusive to jez and sal. especially sal. i have figured out what her secret is, writing this all down, and i think i'll keep it quiet for now...

salome (og designer) is... the ward of the group. i see her as a sheltered innocent who wants to do her best but is not exactly in the group of her own will, possibly a potentially dangerous half-agent... part demon, part angel, caught between sides? unaware of her own fate, destined to destroy the ground they stand on... she's just trying to stick with and help out her friends and get good grades in school.

dorothy was not meant to be part of this challenge BUT i just. i just drew her, and then i checked her page, and it turned out i hadn't drawn her since 2020 so. oops!

copy pasting what i just dumped on her totally blank th page:

"once a human child brutally murdered by her father, dodie's soul was stolen by a cult of demons. they reconstituted and warped her into one of their own, a doll-like husk meant to torture the people who wronged her, etc etc.

said demonic group was a fringe movement very into vengeance and torture, dorothy was found + stolen away by a DIFFERENT fringe group of demons, ones with different views on hell/torture/the afterlife and with an aim of integrating into human society.

still an avenging spirit, now living with adoptive demonic parents + trying to recover her humanity and live a more "normal" life in magic town haven

or something like that. she's an old old character and i'm frantically trying to decide whether to fix her up or to eventually scrap her"
