never getting over "i'm companion enough for myself now." after a century and a half of making horrible decisions out of loneliness and a desperate need for connection, louis is finally okay being by himself.
"i know you can hear me, my child. he's died, hasn't he? i can take care of you. i can teach you what he didn't. come to me" truly encapsulates the entire series huh. same sentiment passed on from person to person for centuries!
in chronological order:
marius to armand
santino/children of darkness to armand
armand to lestat (+what armand wanted lestat to say to him)
marius to lestat (though lestat sought him out)
lestat to louis
louis and lestat to claudia
armand to louis
tdv to claudia
seducing and/or taking in and/or grooming a vulnerable person leading to abuse and/or death and/or abandonment! yay!
louis angrily telling the hallucination of the dead graveyard keeper to "SPEAK ENGLISH" is so funny. we know louis understands french, he has just reached his fucking limit and decided to embrace francophobia. this is also why armand had to get a new accent
season 3 leak
i haven't been paying attention to iwtv fandom lately because the takes are usually so rancid. but for that recent post about "hypothetical abuse" for loumand, what exactly was that referring to? like are fans actually making up scenarios and treating it as canon?
hi, sorry i took so long to reply, i haven't been online much lately!
i haven't seen anything completely made up but rather, fans taking canon events and then extrapolating from them to make things even more horrifying or assuming a one-time event is a common occurrence, and then treating that as canon. i have several examples but i think the post you're referring to was talking about the first one:
armand abusing louis and then erasing his memories of it in 2x05, actually happened several times or even consistently throughout 77 years, as opposed to just the one time we know about. of course this is a possibility that can't be ruled out completely, and i think it's fine to theorize about it, but there's no actual evidence it's true, at least none that i can see.
armand intentionally suicide-baited louis in 2x05 either to punish him or so he could take care of him after or something like that, even though the episode doesn't suggest that at all
the idea that the entire relationship from beginning to end was 100% coercive because louis was actually only with armand to protect claudia, and never even liked armand at all. either that was the only reason he got together with him in the first place, or it was consensual in the beginning but then the only reason he didn't break up with him at the end of 2x04 was bc he actually secretly took the threat to claudia very seriously. i personally believe louis simply assumed it was an empty threat for coven discipline and not something louis thought armand would actually carry out, which also lines up better with comments ive seen from cast and crew as well, but some people read the entire episode completely differently and are very confidently claiming their interpretation is the only correct one.
i wouldn't even have a problem with these if people were talking about them as theories or personal interpretations, but the insistence that it's all undeniable canon fact, is really aggravating to me lol.
some yall love to paint such a rosy picture of louis and lestat's relationship... yeah there's good things about it too but there is a reason louis ended up slitting his throat to escape
"death is the comfort we ALL long for & ALL vampires will inevitably despise their maker for turning them, these are just UNIVERSAL FACTS that apply to everyone everywhere and have nothing to do with me personally"
