Good vs Bad

What defines a good and bad exhibition? or Museum? In class, Rick told us that Van Abbemuseum would be an interesting museum to go to since they often have good curational exhibitions. In his opinion then at least. Or according to him, also by other academic sources in which van Abbe is often mentioned. As a Eindhovenaar myself I got confused when hearing this. I’ve been there many times and am not very fond of the musuem. Is it because of the many obligatory trips I have made with school? Or because my father (graphic artist) is not fond of it as well? If I be honest, I’ve never really critically looked at the curational part of an exhibition. I always think about curatorial aspects such as the framework, objects used, artworks, medium, written text etc. but never at if this particular exhibition would be a curational masterpiece. Maybe that is why I have never thought about van Abbe in that sense. Since I am often to find in Eindhoven, perhaps I should give it another go and look more critically at their exhibitions.
