Protect Your Mind by DJ Sakin & Friends was originally release in 1998 by Overdose. Van Bellen did an incredible job in the remix, turning this classic 90s trance tune into a deeper and milder progressive house anthem. Proof to that was it’s addition to Sasha’s Global Underground 03 : San Francisco. Fun fact: The original mix included samples from the 1995 film, ‘Braveheart’ (starring Mel Gibson).

Manu Riga - Cimmerian (Bonzai Progressive)

Notable Bonzai artist Manu Riga is back once again with a quite stunning piece of work. "Cimmerian" is an ethnically charged dark prog house stomper and comes backed up with top notch remixes. Manu is a busy guys at the moment as he works hard in the studio on his own material, remixes and collaborations which makes for a very exciting future.

We open with the Album Mix, the intro alone will have you intrigued as a watery effect rises from the depths accompanied by hair raising ethnic vocals. It's not long before the kicks ramp up the energy on an epic journey that lies ahead. Brilliantly crafted percussion arrangements build up layer upon layer to create a strong progressive groove while the bass drones away in the background drawing you in. The ever changing vocals are prominent throughout and are a very strong feature of the track with some beautiful synth work matching up perfectly. Just at the midway point the intensity of this track increases tenfold as a myriad of sounds clash in total harmony and a big surprise pops up in the shape of some classic piano, awesome! This is an experience not to be missed and a testament to the stunning talent shown in Manu's work.

Veteran of the progressive sound Van Bellen is up first on the remix. Yoogie is responsible for some absolute stunning remixes and releases on Bonzai over the years and here he continues with the same forthright creativity that always inspires. To say we are in for an epic journey is an understatement, the track opens with a superb punchy kick with percussions supplying a cool underlay. The bassline creeps up out of nowhere and before you know it your locked into a full on progressive ride. Brilliant synth and pad work keep the ears trained with anticipation as the dynamics of the track flow effortlessly. The break reveals beautiful melodic sequences which leads us straight back into the pulsating rhythm, superb stuff!

The impressive LoQuai takes to the mixing desk next with a progressive masterclass. The ethnic vocal opens the track and then powers straight into a head on collision with chunky kicks, crisp hats a brilliant rolling bassline. LoQuai certainly takes the track deeper with dark grooves and minimal use of the vocal, when the vocal is used it creates full effect and this creates a wonderful dynamic within the sound. Intense strings rise and fall as this non-stop relentless groove weaves its magic across the spectrums, top notch indeed.

Finnish DJ and producer Cid Inc. aka Henri Hurtig debuts on Bonzai with a huge progressive monster. Henri is responsible for a massive amount of releases and remixes across many many labels and his talents don't stop there as he also runs his own label Replug. Here he kicks off the remix with a nice chunky kick drum alongside a rhythmic shaker while the bassline rises up to form the basis of a true hypnotic experience. The bassline also forms subtle melodies from deep within and as the track progresses the intensity builds to that of merciless heights. The break reveals stunning sequences that provide respite before getting launched right back into this upfront progressive groove.

Airwave & DJ Fire - Kabalash (Bonzai Progressive)

Long time friends and studio partners Airwave & DJ Fire aka Laurent Veronnez and Jurgen Leyers have come together once again to bring us what can only be described as a "pure trance experience" with their new single "Kabalash". The guys have a long standing history as collaborators and brought us many magical moments as Fire & Ice, here they bring the true force of trance back from the ashes which is sure to get the floors bouncing. "Kabalash" is taken from Airwave's superb double album "Parallel Lines".

The original mix lives up to our expectations when we hear this duo together. The intro is sublime as a reverbed kick drum fills the spectrum with a classy little bongo roll taking us up the levels. The track builds beautifully with quality melodic sequences coming together and subtle teasers of what's to come. The break is something to behold as we are taken on an ethnic themed journey with some fantastic Eastern flavours, and the track thunders back to a solid trance groove in style that will have any floor pumping. Something very special here and a track that is sure to be on a lot of playlists.

Spanish producer Van Bellen aka Yoogie takes us on a trip down prog memory lane with an eclectic take on the original. Cool, steady, solid rhythms are evident through a tight drum arrangement. The bassline gives off a retro vibe and brings back a time when trance was so powerful in its simplicity. Stunning melodies are built with sweeping pads and beautiful soundscapes that fit the sound so perfectly while the break brings out the main hook in all its glory. Hypnotic, euphoric deep progressive grooves that will force you to listen again and again!

Next up for remix duties is Kintar aka Jonatan Tesei. Kintar is synonymous with progressive house-trance and his own particular blend of ethically charged mystic vibes. He is a hugely acclaimed artist and DJ worldwide and he is in great demand for remixes and gigs alike. He founded the label Sudam and runs a monthly radioshow on Frisky called Sudam World. Here we see Kintar deliver his distinct sound on the remix with a deep progressive, hypnotic groove. Very subtle intro with a little percussion as the layers begin to take shape, an ethic flute brings the melody with tight kicks fading in and exploding into a full on prog fest with a stunning bassline. The arrangement spits out lots of quality percs and FX as the melody eases through, an acid type loop sits well on top of this track and on the break an understated build up has a huge effect as we kick back to the main track, superb stuff.

Fresh off the back of his last release on BP "Flying Fortress" LoQuai aka Konstantin Alt is on the remix next with his Tribal Shout Remix. Classic kick intro soon progresses into a full on tribal experience, stunning tabla and bongo combinations sit on a very effective deep bassline. The ethnic theme still runs here and the melodies are very much a huge part of this. Tension builds with huge risers taking us through to an awesome break and then right back to a tribal groove.

Tom Conrad & Andre Bonsor - Sunrise Over Ganymede (Green Martian)

UK based duo Tom and Andre team up for a wonderful slice of prog house with a couple of quality remixes. Tom has an impressive CV in EDM, growing up with the sounds of the 80's with New Order and Tears For Fears and later on the Rave scene. Clubbing and working all over the English Midlands it wasn't long before production called and releases on Seasons Recordings, Open Bar and Sniff Your Ears Recordings to name a few would follow. Andre has seen releases on the same labels and the guys have joined forces on a few occasions in the past. "Sunrise Over Ganymede" comes with 2 great remixes.

The original is a real treat, starting off with a sweet melodic sound, sharp crisp hats are soon followed by a perfect kick. The melody continues throughout with lots of different sounds playing a role, a nice pad lies in the background. The bassline takes hold and a steady hypnotic rhythm is formed, classy stuff.

DJ and Producer Rishi Gargour aka Rishi. K is at the controls for the first of 2 remixes. Rishi's "White Crane" on GM was well received and here his talents shine yet again. Moving into the deeper end of prog house with a deep thud on the kicks and a sublime bassline. Lots of FX fill the spaces and some very nifty instruments play a big role here, very well crafted remix indeed.

Van Bellen is up next with a superb solid groover. Spanish producer Yoogie offers up a taste of epic progressive house vibes, fully charged chugging bassline with a host of wonderful FX gets under your skin and holds you in its grip, huge sound here and will be on a lot of playlists for sure.
