↪ 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜 -  changmin’s heart is as big as can be. if someone is hurting, he is hurting. he’s fantastic with reading people’s emotions, especially because he’s so in tune with his own. he understands people very well, which probably is what got him the leadership position he currently claims.

↪ 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥 -  naturally, van finds himself taking on the parental role in a group of people. he’s always very sensitive to other people’s needs and will go to great lengths to ensure that everyone feels safe. the ‘mom friend’ label doesn’t offend van. in fact, he embraces the nickname and finds it to be a compliment. it’s definitely not easy parenting.

↪ 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 -  in his mind, changmin builds up high expectations for the world and other people. in his world, no one gets hurt and everyone does good things with pure intentions. when these expectations are not met, he gets very disappointed and hurt. one of his biggest struggles is trying to see the world for what it really is, not what he wants it to be.

↪ 𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐝 - it takes a lot for van to come back from something. usually, he’s the one who lets himself down. he’s very hard on himself, striving for perfection when perfection can never be met. it’ll take some self-reflection and a boost in self-confidence for van to get back in the saddle. he builds up high expectations for a lot of things, so when those expectations are not met, he gets a little upset and shuts down.

↪ 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞: living in seoul his whole life, changmin always was starry-eyed for big opportunities. he mostly gets these big ideas from his parents. his mother is an astrologist at a local university and his father is a former video game designer. always being taught to shoot for the stars, changmin tried his hand at multiple things growing up. his parents, who adored their only son whole-heartedly, always supported him regardless. when he came out to his family in 2016, they were nothing but supportive of their little star. they continue to be his biggest support system, even into adulthood.

↪ 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐛𝐮𝐭: changmin was always fond of music and performance, so it was no surprise to his parents when he announced that he wanted to try taking his love for music and turning it into a career. first, he started selling his produced beats to various idol entertainment companies. after being involved with the process of making kpop music, he decided that he wanted to pursue that lifestyle too.during trainee years, changmin was recognized for his rapping ability and infectious personality. he lacked heavily in vocals and dancing, which set him back a couple of years for debut. after showing tremendous improvement, he was selected to be apart of the predebut project group hbh next boys in 2014.

van is the mediator of Triptych. like all the generations.

ronan grew up in the suburbs of vancouver to egyptian parents who immigrated right after they got married !!

he is the middle child , which he kind of always hated growing up because he was always the in-between but that just meant he had to find fun stuff for himself :’)

growing up, his parents fought very badly a lot . most of his memories with his family aren’t pleasant and he can’t remember a time that his parents loved each other :( it was either high tensions or just someone blowing up 

still tho, his parents?? never got a divorce.... they thought that staying together would be better on their kids which is dumb & twisted but they did truly love their kids a heck of a lot

u would think ronan resents his parents for making his childhood so dark but he still loves them individually , and sees them as good people - for the most part , he still has a relationship with both of them 

naturally ronan hated being at home . he found any reason to stay out a little longer . either that or he just stayed in his room n sulked a lot

u would never know this though!! he hated talking about the bad stuff in his life like even when things got really bad he would just play it off & keep telling himself things could be a lot worse 

growing up around a lot of tension has made ronan super intuitive & aware of other people’s emotions . because of that he has a habit of catering to other people’s emotions a lot & forgetting to act on his !

since high school , he has always wanted to go into film ( specifically screenwriting because he’s loved storytelling since he was a kid & received praise for it as well throughout school )

his parents weren’t supportive of this dream tho , so he went into journalism to please them . after two years of trying to make it thru , ronan finally had enough & dropped out & switched to film

he went to capilano university for film & graduated at 24 !

after that he went into doing entry-level jobs in the film industry , slowly making his way up until he finally got the opportunity to make a pitch @ the age of 29 !! his job’s kinda made his life a lil unpredictable ‘cause of the hours & locations but for the most part , he’s been lucky to be able to stay in vancouver . 

he currently writes a lot on his own time whether its for personal pleasure or jobs! has done short films, tv episodes, not really a lot of movies but he does work on his own projects whenever he’s got the time (goes into hibernation sometimes!!)

to sum up his personality: he’s a cancer 

ronan has the tendency to romanticize everything & remembers everything better than they actually were :/ he just be like that

keeps a journal that he regularly writes in (has stacks of them from past years in a corner of his room , collecting dust)

but he isn’t naive i’d say? like he isn’t super trusting of everyone or anything , it’s just that once you do become an important person in his life he kinda gets tunnel vision 

same with his experiences too - he does see things for the way they are, just a little enhanced. he makes bad experiences seem like they happen for a reason does that make sense idk

he’s ... very sensitive but is scared of confrontation like he’s open with his emotions EXCEPT when it comes to negative confrontations ‘cause his parents have given him this idea that all fights lead into huge big blowout fights !! idk he’s so aware of his emotions but kind of has an unhealthy relationship with them

— born in dawson creek , british columbia , raf’s family had to move to the small city of grande prairie when he was around eight years old . his dad was laid off from his job at the oil patch and they moved to alberta for the supposedly better jop opportunities but with only a high school diploma and his lack of ambition , there really wasn’t much there for him . 

— with 5 kids in the family and an unemployed dad , raf always kinda knew the #struggle . and when he thought things couldn’t get any harder ! raf’s mom was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer his freshman year of high school , it kinda ran in her side of the family . then by the time sophomore year rolled around , raf was helping his dad plan her funeral .

— after that , things really started going downhill fast . his dad still couldn’t find a job and started pretty much flaking on them , disappearing multiple nights in a row , drinking heavily . raf’s dad was a good man , respectful , and care about his kids but just not enough . it came to a point when raf reached his eighteenth birthday that he just left them , with nothing more than a note apologizing , saying they’d do better without him . 

— throughout high school and up until his college years you better believe that raf was on that work grind™ . his mom left him and his siblings the house plus a decent amount of money but he wanted to save that money for their schooling so he was working multiple jobs at a time , some full time , just to support himself and his siblings . raf missed so much school one year that he almost failed his junior year of high school . but grande prairie was a small place and all of his teachers pretty much knew what was going on so they cut him some slack .

— really , they pitied the kid . they tried really hard to help him in whatever way they could his senior year since they knew raf actually had potential . they got him to focus more on his education and work just that much harder and it all paid off ! because raf got a full-ride scholarship to the university of british columbia . things really started looking up after this .

— since he refused to leave his siblings behind , raf sold their house in grande prairie and used the money from that with the money their mom left them to move himself and his siblings to the tiniest , cheapest apartment he could find in vancouver . while still working , in ubc he completed his bachelor’s in english and afterwards he got accepted into their law school .

— after law school , raf flitted around the city between different jobs at smaller firms for a couple of years until landing a decent one at one of the city’s top corporate law firms . there , he worked his way up and up through the years , earning a name for himself in the city until he reached the title of senior partner . throughout this , he supported his siblings , helping put them through college , etc .

— it was some time around this point in his life that raf fell in love , got married , and had a kid of his own . but he was so focused on work , not wanting his family to go through the same financial struggles he did , that he completely forgot about spending time with his wife and son . this was the main reason his wife divorced him and moved out of their condo and this kinda .. what led raf to ~reinvent~ himself and have a reverse mid-life crisis jfdijfing

— so he dropped his HIGH-PAYING JOB AT A TOP NOTCH CORPORATE LAW FIRM smh ,,, and picked up a teaching job at his sons high school :/ can u say .. embarrasing .. but he a smort binch and worked smth out money wise so that they’re not broke .... like a savings ? im a dum binch so idk but like ... yeah ....

— so like right now , raf just wants to spend time with his son , inspire kids , help them the way his old teachers helped them in high school . even tho ... he kinda fucked emotionally , doesn’t think his feelings are valid ... #relatable #toxic masculinity ,, but like hes TRYING ok

cyra ‘cy’ comes from a very rich and elite family 

despite having things handed to her on a silver platter, she had a hard time growing up

she didn’t have many friends or any social life rly outside of school

after graduating high school she thought uni would be her way out, regardless of the pretentious university she’d applied to, at least she’d be away from home—but no!! as always, her parents disregarded whatever she had to say and didn’t think her education was important bc her duties as an elite lil lady haven’t finished yet!!!

she was set to have an arranged marriage to this guy she’d never met cause it would b good 4 family business!!!

a bit about her personality

she doesn’t it like it when people pity her or do things for her she’s very independent and self-reliant.

she’s also very guarded and closed off, but at the same time really friendly and approachable. 

she’s kinda confusing?? one day she’s the life of the party and everyone’s favorite social butterfly but the next day she could be as cold as ice in the comfort of her own solitude, very unpredictable!! 

she just has a lot of trust-issues n finds it hard 2 completely open up to anyone

     hello everyone!!! i’m runner ( 20, she/her, est ) and this is charlotte!!! i’m super pumped and there is so much stuff under the cut, i apologize for the length lmao. anyone, if you’re inspired feel free to hmu!!

* crystal reed, 29 , cis female — hey , have you seen charlotte madden anywhere ? i’m hearing oh child by robin schulz so she must be around here somewhere . hm , maybe they’re at home in gastown or at rogers arena. they’re a photographer/media specialist, y’know . people also call them the saccharine ‘cause they can be pretty malleable & anxious. but others say they’re also friendly & understanding, so i guess it balances out » runner, 20, she/her, est. --georgia madden's lil sister wc!! 

HISTORY ( tw emotional neglect?? kinda? )

little sister to superstar actress georgia madden and has been trying to run from that since she was 13 and georgia got her first big break and things really really went to hell.

things weren’t always like that though. in charlotte’s early childhood things weren’t so bad. her and georgia were extremely close. she looked up to her big sister and idolized her --wanted to be just like her. they acted in a few things together and for a while, things were really good.

however charlotte never had the same love for being in front of crowds and the camera --the love for acting and putting on different personas-- that her older sister did. she could feel their mother’s time and energy going toward georgia and for a while, she tried to fight it. tried to act her way into their mother’s attention, but georgia was the one with all the acting talent ---not charlotte.

eventually she gave up. it was a multitude of things: feeling like her mother’s gaze was going right through her, georgia becoming someone she didn’t want to idolize anymore ( more self-centered, more bitchy, more centered on someone who was going to become a star, the best, instead of charlotte’s older sister ). it wouldn’t be long after that georgia would get her first big break and charlotte would be fully cast aside (age 13).

it was their father that gave charlotte her first camera after a long tearful conversation about being feeling ignored and neglected. ( i picked charlotte’s song ‘oh child’ by robin schulz kinda based off this??? like the lyric ‘ oh child, just do what you love, 'cause you won't get this life again ’ ouch ). the story goes, charlotte picked up a camera and all but disappeared. poetic, really, that one madden sister would live her live in front of cameras and the other behind it.

armed with a new love and spiteful, charlotte cast her gaze around for something that was as far away from acting and hollywood, and (perhaps with a bit of her father’s help) her eyes landed on sports ---in hockey in particular. here was something with a different fast pace from the shuffle of their mother’s and georgia’s whirlwind life.

charlotte madden did so much better behind the camera than in front and it brought her to the university of michigan - ann arbor and spit her out four years later with degrees in photography, journalism, and advertising, and lucrative connections in the hockey industry. these were connections born of hard work and her sweet and polite personality, a permanent gig through her four years shooting the michigan men’s hockey team, internships with the canucks over the summer, close friends on the team who had been drafted, who would be drafted...

four years away at college and mostly away from the drama of her home hold changed charlotte for the better. she became more confident after her confidence had been shattered through her adolescent and high school years due to neglect. she still has fears about not being good enough, but she absolutely loves what she does. 

upon graduation, she would bounce around between covering minor league teams before she would take up a more permanent internship with the vancouver canucks which would soon turn into a job not long after. she has been working with them for almost four years now. she has recently become the head of their social media and pr team.

MISC

charlotte’s relationship with her mother and sister is extremely strained to say the least. when she quit acting her mother tried to get back into it and then ignored her. she was again a blip on the radar when georgia fired their mother, but at that point, charlotte was set on the path she saw for herself. when she turned to photographing sports her mother was distraught ( ‘because how could someone so beautiful turn to taking pictures of sports of all things’ ).

with her sister... it’s complicated. she misses those very early days when they were close and she was a confidant, but most days she barely remembers them. they’re too far back, too buried in everything that has happened since that they’re just a faint fuzzy feeling she’s too scared to chase in case it disappears. charlotte never had to be the best, she just wanted her sister.

holidays are rough in the madden household to say the least.

almost no one calls her lottie. it’s something that her mom calls her in an attempt to make her feel closer and she will never have good connotations with the nickname. she prefers her full name, but those very close to her have the privilege of calling her char.

she lives close to rodgers arena for work reasons. during the summer when she’s not quite as busy, she’ll do a little freelance work.

kill ‘em with kindness. charlotte’s demeanor is very sweet and polite, but don’t be fooled, she has a spine and isn’t a complete pushover. much of that is practiced, at her very core she’s still very scared of people not liking her ---hence why she’s so kind all the time. if people could hear the arguments she gets into with her mother and sister, they might not ever believe it.

some people ask her if she’s related to the georgia madden because of her last name. charlotte always says no. it’s easier, and these days it’s better off that she’s not related to her. she built her own career by herself and doesn’t want people to think that her sister had fucking shit to do with it.

here’s a bit about him:

the older brother of a younger sister. they grew up in a pretty intense house, and in the end he ended up seeming more like her dad than her brother. he’s very protective of her, that kinda thing.

his parents were extremely toxic. one day they’d be madly in love, the next they’d be screaming and fighting with each other. it was very equal on both sides, so bobby never really had a side that he stuck with. he usually kept his distance, his parents kinda forgetting they had kids most of the time.

because of this upbringing, in bobby’s head, he convinced himself that passion and arguing and all of that were good things for a relationship. that was what he always searched for in people. if they argued, he got a thrill out of it. he lived for the thrill of that push and pull that his parents seemed to have, not realizing how bad it is. 

because of this, he’s a little misguided when it comes to his love life and what he’s supposed to search for. he goes for people who don’t seem to agree with him, instead of going with people who show a mutual love & respect with him. anger and passion are what he rly craves.

he’s a detective!! he deals with a lot of big cases and is p good at what he does. he gets a little obsessive and overworks himself when he gets a case that rly messes with him.

generally, he’s a nice enough boy. he loves animals and loves talking with people. his only issues when it comes to love.

shantipriya was born in india her mother was a bollywood starlet in the late 70s and early 80s. while her career did exist in the 90s ( and even somewhat today ) her star power and allure drifted when she had gotten married and had children because shantipriya was the oldest her mother blamed her lack of success on her only daughter. another notable thing to mention is despite living in india, a prominently hindu nation, the mathur family were muslims. much like the old bollywood actress madhubala, the mathur family was forced to practice their religious beliefs in secrecy until they were able to move to america. the mathur family moved when shantipriya was around sixteen years old, this is also when her father had passed away due to a heart disorder ( one she also inherited )  

shanti’s world came to a crashing halt when her father passed away, even at the young age of sixteen it effected her greatly. she was never close to her mother but her father was someone she not only loved but idolized. his death broke her as did her relationship with her mother. shanti’s mother was old school desi. she had gotten married when she was very young and expected her only daughter to do the same. while the arranged marriage was already in place the ceremony would take place on her eighteenth birthday. unfortunately, shantipriya never was able to see her eighteenth birthday because she had been kidnapped and forced to join a doomsday cult where she spent the next seven years inside a bunker. going into the details of what life was like inside the bunker isn’t necessary because shantipriya doesn’t remember much of it. she suppresses her memory of the event and struggled to testify in court when her and six other women were found.

after being freed from the bunker, shantipriya moved to pakistan where she lived with her aunt and uncle.because mental health being taboo in desi culture she wasn’t given the proper treatment she needed to recover from the events in the bunker. however, shantipriya did find therapy in the world of dance. one of the only things she admired about her mother was her ability to carry a tune with her hips and enchant an entire audience with a bat of a lash. what started as dancing in private had flourished into a career for shantipriya. in pakistan shantipriya taught young girls how to dance and it was her aunt and uncle who encouraged her to return to the states, establish a career as a dance instructor/dancer, and  reunite with her mother. she was terrified for many reasons but eventually convinced herself to return.

when she was there her mother and brothers greeted her. a lot of questions arose about the bunker on shantipriya’s part as well. she wondered if her family looked for her. the answer to that question is still *shane and ryan voice* unsolved. suppressing this as well, shantipriya was regretting her return when her mother had still been keen on having her daughter become a bride. shantipriya wasn’t here for it and left her mother in the dust. during this time shanti got her education, she went to college, she traveled and earned some culture under her belt. it was difficult but shantipriya was a woman who liked to tackle the world head on.

she opened a successful dance studio in los angeles had inspired shantipriya to do bigger and brighter things. her studio expanded into a chain and she auditioned for bollywood movies and quickly became a rising star in bollywood. her emergence to hollywood began when she starred in a broadway play that earned her, her first tony award. shortly afterward she received her first oscar nomination. life is great for shantipriya but she feels like she’s missing something. firstly, she never fully recovered from her traumatic past and refuses to acknowledge it which can be very dangerous. secondly, she’s traditional. she wants to get married and have children and is eager on filling that role in her life. she was in a relationship with a fellow bollywood a-lister but things went sour quickly. she’s concerned if she should keep trying or just give up all together.

she’s in east van at the moment, living a humble life while she is preparing for her second hollywood motion picture. while this is something shanti is proud of she ?? doesn’t brag about it nor talk about it very much. she’s a solemn starlet and refuses to go down the same path her mother did when she reached her own fame.
