Every time I hear Riptide I get flashbacks to A-level media studies class lol.

It isn't the only piece of media that does this to me but it's probably the one I run into the most.

i know this is a super weird theory to bring up, but I find it coincidental that taylor has a song called "the story of us" and Michelle Pfeiffer was in a movie called The Story of Us, since we all collectively know there's some sentimental connection taylor has with MP after she smirked while singing "riptide". this is most likely a total reach lol, but do you think there's a connection between the person she's singing about in TSOU and Riptide? my guess is dianna, if there is one.

Imo, that timeline is a bit too tight to be about Dianna (and according to some, it doesn’t slap, so it’s probably not about a woman, but either a red herring or diss record), and the common narrative is that it’s about John Mayer (🤢🤮).

Allegedly, Dianna and Taylor casually met back in 2010 through Chord and Cory, then again at the Vanity Fair Oscars party, February 2011.

Dianna did post about Vance Joy’s “Riptide”, almost 8 months to the day prior to Taylor’s BBC One performance.
