@vanguarddrifter The tap comes as a moderate surprise: people tap his shoulder to get his attention all the time when they know that it’s something he’s used to, and that’s only four people around here. But he remembers after a moment that he’s… got earbuds in. Like he always does on the treadmill.
He takes his music out, and after a moment of fumbling with the case in the water bottle caddy on his right side, he’s got his ears back in. He slows his pace to a jog, expecting it to be another pilot or something, someone who won’t be all that offended if he doesn’t stop his workout to talk to them.
“Yeah?”
Ruby wasn’t used to talking to people like Leon. She and the rest of the engineering crew tended to keep to themselves except for Migas. He was definitely the social butterfly of the engineering team.
“u-uh, I mean, that--“ she stammered maybe seeing leon’s respons as a bit more annoyed than it actually was. She took a deep breath.
“Sir! I was told to tell you that repairs are done a-and, umm--“ she practically shouted and saluted, then she let her arms sink. Played with the arms of her coveralls a bit and looked down.
“ And that you should come to the bay when you’re done,“ she mentally berated herself for being a bit too loud.
