Darevas Mahariel - Grew up wandering the Free Marches with Clan Sabrae after his parents were attacked by humans. He was raised by Ashalle and grew up alongside his best friends, Merrill and Tamlen. Darevas was a rough and tough kid with a short temper, frequently getting into fights with his peers. He often found solas amongst the clan's Halla.
Vani Tabris - Vani grew up in Denerim's elven Alienage with her parents, Cyrion and Adaia Tabris. Her mother, well aware of the unfairness of the world, raised her daughter to be a strong and independent rogue who took if upon herself to protect her cousins, Soris and Shianni. Despite her size and timid appearance, Vani proved herself to be skilled duelist.
Garrett Hawke - The eldest of the Hawke siblings, Garrett Hawke was raised by his parents Malcolm and Leandra. Garrett discovered his magic at the age of 8 (by accidentally blasting himself in the face with a fireball), forcing the family to continuously stay on the move to avoid having to surrender him - and later his sister, Bethany - to the Templars. Malcolm took extra care to raise his children to be powerful and well educated mages. Garrett always cherished family time and while he had no problem making friends wherever they went, he always considered his siblings to be his best friends.
Marian Hawke - Wearing the title of eldest daughter, Marian quickly picked up the role of family protector - doubling the importance of that role after her sister, Bethany, discovered her magic, causing the family to continuously move from town to town. Her father, Malcolm, trained her and her brother, Carver, to be quick and lethal with a sword. Marian and Carver also took it upon themselves to train in hand-to-hand combat in their constant boxing and wrestling matches (much to her mother's dismay). Marian was always the girl you didn't mess with and Maker help those who dared to mess with her siblings.
Cyran Lavellan - Born and raised by his parents, Keeper Deshanna Istimaethoriel and Shiaya Lavellan alongside his younger sister, Lorelei Lyna Lavellan. Cyran discovered his magic at the age of 9, granting him the honorary title of First to his father. He grew up well respected by his elder clan members being a quiet and mild-mannered young man while his peers enjoyed his laid back personality and good humor.
Nyx Ingellvar - The mysterious Grand Necropolis Crypt baby, Nyx Ingellvar was found and protected by the cemetery's resident wisps and later adopted and raised by Morgoth. Nyx grew up naturally drawn towards spirits. This only increased as their magical abilities developed. Concerned of the threat of possession, a motion was brought to the Watchers to have the young mage made Tranquil. The Watchers voted against the solution, vowing to keep a more watchful eye on the child and their relations with spirits. This only caused divide between Nyx and their caretakers as they began to rebel against authority, mixing with dangerous crowds among the living in the streets of Nevarra City. Luckily, Morgoth had grown quite fond of child and was able to pull multiple strings to keep Nyx out of trouble and set back on the right track to becoming a certified member of the Mourn Watch (although it would prove futile).

Garrett Hawke (Dragon Age 2): Big Bark/Horrific Bite
He doesn't threaten often, but when he does you won't even have begun to recover from the mental attack when you receive the physical attack (if Varric Tethras doesn't get you first).
Nyx "Rook" Ingellvar (Dragon Age: The Veilguard): Big Bark/CATASTROPHIC Bite
He did not come off the Nevarra City streets unscathed. Mage by birth, scrapper by choice
