I live in a country where university education is free. People paid for mine from their taxes and now that I finished my education I'm more than happy to contribute towards other people's education. It's a cycle where working people invest into young people's education who then in turn will invest into the following generation once they can. Ultimately, it is an investment that benefits the whole state. Educating future professionals is in its interest, is it not?

For the "get to know me uncomfortably well" thingy: 28, 51, 54, 68, and 69? (I hope that's not too many. :D)

28. What type of music do you like? A little bit of everything, to be honest! I generally prefer pop/rock, but my phone’s got everything from video game instrumentals to folk-rock to full-on 80s cheese.

51. Are you scared of spiders? Haha, yup! Maybe not quite as badly as some people I know - my mom’s straight-up arachnophobic - but I’m definitely not fond of being around the little buggers. 

54. Are you a clean or messy person? I’m pretty messy by nature (the number of times I’ve slept with a mound of clothes on my bed speaks to that), but I do enjoy trying to figure out how to organize things efficiently, and being in a clean space. Just, motivating myself to do so is a problem sometimes.

68. Favorite school subject? English… probably no coincidence it was also my best subject. Although not always true in a school setting, it always interested me how subjective reading and writing were - everyone has a different voice that they write in, and a different interpretation of characters, events and themes in literature based on their own personalities and experiences.

69. Extrovert or Introvert? Definite introvert… and the lack of self-confidence and social anxiety probably don’t help! ;)

That’s a gross way to think about living beings that spend pretty much their entire lives as our companions. That just shows lack of empathy on their side more than anything else. I find that a little disturbing, honestly. Just know you’re not the one in the wrong. So take your time to process it. And thank you, as well, for your words. I appreciate it.

That’s exactly what I think, too. It’s just hard to keep it up when you’re surrounded by such people.

This. Kaidan/Ashley have a legit point. But we're not allowed reasonable dialogue options to talk through such a complicated situation and instead Shepard is forced to act like an inconsiderate moron. We're not allowed to defend or explain ourselves. The fact large part of the fandom is offended simply for being questioned at all for obviously questionable behaviour is amazing, too. Forever salty about all of this.

Oh believe me. Don’t even START me on the fandom. Don’t start me on Joker in ME3. Don’t start me on the lame defenses we have for the confrontation during the coup that we can talk our way out of with ease in the first place. Don’t start me on ‘hey, I know EDI’s body was responsible for nearly killing you, but since Joker and Traynor have the hots for her, we’re gonna mock you for being uncomfortable about it.’ Don’t-

I’m starting anyway. Suffice to say, the way that Ashley and Kaidan are treated, both in fandom and in the narrative proper itself, never fails to piss me off to levels that require new blood pressure medication.

Rishiko, pls. It’s just natural asari markings, tsk, tsk! It’s complete coincidence that they look like human eyebrows! I mean, just because all the other many asari don’t have anything like that doesn’t make it weird!

Did you know Pelessaria (PB) too will be the only one having eyebrows? Is this like the new form of spotting the main guy in an anime? Look for an asari with eyebrows... and you will know... she is important.

They’re giving you $3 an hour? I’ll come beat up your employer… :/ Crossing fingers that it’ll get better for you with time. You’re very young still - you’ve got plenty of time for positive changes. Hang in there!

No, no - I make $8.16 an hour, which isn’t terrible in its own right (minimum wage is $7.5, I think?), but I take 20% out for tax and split what’s left in half with my parents, so I take home about $3.2 of my own money an hour. Could be worse, for sure - but it doesn’t motivate too well when you break it down like that.

I'm sorry for your loss. I don't understand why some would react that way. You didn't lose "just a budgie". You lost a friend. I cried too when my hamster died. I'm 28 and I don't care. They may be small, but that doesn't mean they don't matter and that they don't have big personalities in the little bodies of theirs. Telling you otherwise is a bit cruel. You have every right to be sad.

Apparently, little animals/birds are not considered as “real” pets by most people and are being treated like a decorative part of the interior. Idk, I become strongly attached to any living creature I bring home. And I’m sorry for your loss, too. :(
