Heaven’s Tiny Daggers are those bitches.🎸
Me, naming my protagonist’s band Heaven’s Tiny Daggers: Ok, now she needs a matching stage name.
Also me: Vanilla Gunfire. :):):)
Meanwhile...
Neither My Chemical Romance or I know what a gun is. 😂
🖊🖊🖊
Three pens, one for each member of Heaven’s Tiny Daggers!
Finola Begby, otherwise known as Vanilla Gunfire, or simply, Finn, is the frontwoman and founder of the band. She’s a neurotic and insecure, but exceptionally talented artist and singer. She started Heaven’s Tiny Daggers with her best friend, Penny, while feeling exceptionally lost after finishing her art degree. Although terribly shy, she finds her voice onstage after meeting Aster Maddox, famously from The Crossroad Burials, who takes her under his wing. She’s launched into superstardom when The Crossroad Burials take Heaven’s Tiny Daggers on tour with them, and they collaborate on HTD’s debut album.
Penny Dreadful is Finn’s childhood friend and bassist for Heaven’s Tiny Daggers. She’s the biracial daughter of an Indian father and American mother, both of whom are lawyers who are rarely home. In a desperate bid to gain her parents’ attention, she starts exhibiting increasingly reckless behaviours, starting with kleptomania, and moving on to arsen, and has been arrested numerous times. She’s got a gleeful obsession with all things Victorian, and as a lyricist for the band, tries to put as much gritty Victorian storytelling into HTD’s songs. She’s a bubbly, sassy ball of energy who knows how to tear it up on stage. She takes an immediate shine to Grace Maddox, and the two pyromaniacs get on like a house on fire…
Davina Jones is the guitarist of the band. She’s the local rockstar of HTD’s tiny home town. She comes from a long line of musicians who keep the legacy of black influences in rock music alive. Davina’s the one who got the band their original gigs and she’s the one who first puts the band in touch with Aster, who owed her a favour at the time. She’s confident and charismatic, and knows how to draw people to her. She’s also the most sensible one of the band, and knows how to ask the important questions in dealing with potentially shady business matters. It’d be a shame if something were to… happen to her… because Finn and Penny are lost without her.
Send me a 🖊 and I’ll gush about an OC!
Me: Ok, we can’t make Finn too similar to Gerard Way. Give her blue hair!
Gerard Way:
Me:
Finola Begby: *is an artist who decided to start a punk band while feeling lost after graduating from art school; is deeply insecure, despite being incredibly multi-talented in everything she does; can barely get on stage without drinking first; interested in telling stories through concept albums; wants to make a difference in the world through her art; is open about her mental illness to help her fans understand theirs too; mentored by a political activist band; falls in love with a musician from a band she's touring with; embarks on a big, goth parade transcending beyond life, death, and time itself.*
Me: Oh no, but what if she's too similar to Gerard Way???
Finn: It's okay, mom. I'm a blue-haired pop punk painter with a penchant for pastel aesthetics.
This entire conversation is an Introvert Mood.
Me: This character is loosely based on Gerard Way.
Me @ me: What colour is her hair, Sophie?
Me: Peroxide blonde!
Me @ me: ...
Me: ...with blue tips!!!
Me @ me: Good save.
dishonesty hour: which of your OCs has their shit together the most
They’re all very much together and have no traumas or anxieties to worry about ever… Off the top of my head though, because she’s in the forefront of my mind lately, Finola Begby is very confident in herself and her talents and never needs outside validation. She’s not constantly on the verge of a neurotic breakdown at all.
Dishonesty hour! Send me questions about my OCs!
