The unopened buds exude a thick resin just before unfurling their leaves which has the most delectable scent ever. 💫 This spring, I found a large cottonwood tree which had fallen down in a storm, and the buds were perfectly sticky and resinous! Those sustainably harvested buds have now been infusing in organic olive oil for several months, and I've been trying to think of how to best utilize them because they're amazing for so many things and can only be harvested during a short window each spring... ✨ Then, I tried something new with vanilla! Most vanilla products are made from synthetic fragrances, so I infused organic + fair trade vanilla beans in jojoba oil plus added real vanilla absolute for even more vanilla goodness! The result is divine - a rich and real vanilla infused oil! 🥰 Then I thought... 💭 What if I combined the poplar bud oil with the double-vanilla bean oil, and my head almost exploded with excitement! 🤩 May's facial serum of the month will contain the double-vanilla infusion and the balsam bud infusion, plus a couple of other skin-loving ingredients.
