HAVE YOU EVER: 10- Been depressed?

Yes, I have. Very recently, it’d been very bad. It was when my brother was scheduled to undergo open-heart surgery again and I couldn’t handle it. I think anybody can be depressed, for whatever reason. They don’t need a personal history of it, nor a familial background of it. Anybody can have something stress them out so much or worry them, or make them feel inadequate enough that they feel depressed. They may not realize they had been depressed over it- maybe they thought they were in a funk- but I can honestly say I think everybody has been depressed at one point in their life.

THIS YEAR HAVE YOU: 20- Found out someone was talking about you?

My mom, to all her coworkers. Like, holy shit, they know everything about me, it’s really creepy.

And recently, I found out my friend/dorm-mate Crystal was talking about me to her boyfriend. He came over on our last night at the dorms before we’d all leave for break and I went into her room to talk to her but she wasn’t there with him. I introduced myself and he was like, “Oh, yeah! Amy! I’ve heard a lot about you. You’re in that room right?” As he proceeded to point to my door. He knew everything about what happened this year with my no-longer roommate. And he knew a lot about me too. Apparently, she was bragging about me to him and he said it felt like he’s known me forever since he knows so much now. And he and I are pretty good friends now, too, because of it!

And speaking of my no-longer roommate, she was talking behind my back a lot. Complaining about me. And it was nothing that should have bothered her. Like, okay, if I was messy or I had strong smelling air freshener, sure, I can understand talking about that and disliking it. But she would talk to our dorm-mates about me like, *cue mean girl voice* “Yeah, she likes anime. And blue.” Like, she was ripping on my personality. She didn’t like the fact that our bedspread didn’t match (she was pink, I was aqua) and she didn’t like the fact that I had nerdy movies in my DVD collection (superheroes, LoTR, Sherlock Holmes, etc). I never watched anime in front of her either, the only indication that I like it is the picture on my desk that my cousin had drawn for me for Christmas last year of us, anime-style with wings. It was a gift and very special to me (which everyone knew because I never let any of them touch it) and she was making fun of it. Needless to say, we’re not roommates anymore. Not my decision but I’m glad she decided to move out. Everyone comes over to talk to me now because they’re not avoiding her. I am liked by everybody in the building except her, by her own doing so now I don’t care that she “trash talked” me.

30- Last time you saw all your siblings at the same time?

Sunday. Joe went back home to his apartment Sunday night, Nick is still living with Mom and Dad until he can find a good, affordable place near his work. And I’m home for the holidays, until January something. Not sure when I can move back to my dorm…

Don’t have any, want lots. Definitely going to get “Music doesn’t just happen to you, you make it happen” in calligraphy on my arm. I’m going to get “Perfect Porcelain” across my wrists (“Perfect” on one, “Porcelain” on the other). I’m going to get my parents’ and brothers’ birthdays on my ribs. “I do believe in faeries” in calligraphy between my shoulder blades with faerie wings. And maybe a few more, if the ideas can actually pan out.

WHICH IS BETTER: 70- Older or younger?

The fact that I’m almost 20 freaks me out but, hey, closer to “freedom” (at least from my parents). Being young was really great because you always had that sense of security at home- you knew where everything was, you never had to worry about anything like taxes or insurance or bills- but it was heavily restricted and you weren’t really your own person. So I’m more for being older.

HAVE YOU EVER: 80- Broken someone’s heart?

Nope. Well, unless you count Sleeping Beauty but I think I disappointed his dick more than broke his heart…
