     the noise that tears through his throat is an agonized mixture of agony and fury. when the doors to the fortress  f l y  open, the howls and shrieks of the grimm just outside create a dissonant chorus of noise.

     the trail of purple the follows his staggering steps should be enough to reveal what happened. he’s thankful that the doctor and hazel aren’t present to witness such a disgracing moment.

     and then golden eyes fall on  h e r.

head turned and gaze flaying the younger girl, his lips pursed until he finally conceded some mental battle. there would be no glory gained through insulting her now, unsatisfied with salting an already defiled wound.

                          “i might have something..”

he rose from his desk, opening the cabinets and squinting inside, before he retrieved a small rattling bottle containing capsules. extracting two, he handed them over to cinder with a dismissive wave of his hand.

                          “swallow with water, if you’re able to. if not i’ll have to think                           of a creative way of getting it in your system.”
