In this AU, the player doesn't know that he's an accountant. They fully believe that he quit his music career to happily pursue marine biology. They've had late night talks together, where the player encourages him to go for the job if that's what really made him happy.

Enough time passes by, but his efforts weren't considered enough even with classes. He didn't have the courage to tell the player that he failed, so he just kept it a secret. The feeling grew each day with him not ever saying it out loud, so he ended up becoming distant.

Maybe it was out of guilt, the uneasy tension that comes after disappointing a loved one, seeing their support gone to waste. Or maybe it was his ego, proving to everyone that he was better off as a toilet.

Even if it means they don't talk anymore, the player accepted the fact that if he's happy with what he's become, then so will they. They are proud of him. Eventually, they stopped trying to contact his number, and sent him a final farewell gift—a customized fish mirror.

He doesn't have the courage to call back, but one day he will.

Just not today.
