Page 18. ---- A threatening two-alarm fire at the Frontenac Paint & Varnish Company plant, 5541 Papineau avenue, was brought under control only by prompt action on the part of firemen from north end stations yesterday afternoon. Here firemen are pouring a stream of water into the interior of the burning building, in which a series of minor explosions occurred.
