[forehead] for Varric

He had been in the middle of editing when Ana stopped by the table. Setting down his quill, he sat upright, taking a moment to stretch. Before he could ask Ana if she needed something, she had leaned down and placed a tender kiss on his forehead.

Varric blinked. Then, he grinned an almost dopey grin.

"What did I do to deserve that? Not that I'm complaining."

"stop pointing that at me!" for varric. also rook being a little shit

"I'm not pointing it at you!" he says. "I'm pointing it behind you. There's a difference."

Varric couldn't believe he had walked face first into a branch.

Usually tree branches were way above his territory. Something he didn't have to worry about. Of course, this branch had to be low hanging, and he had to be in the middle of one of his smart ass quips, and of course he didn't notice it until he turned and smacked his nose right into it.

The bruise on his face was not going to be pretty.

The Inquisitor and Iron Bull promptly started to cackle at Varric's startled "shit!"

At least Vivienne had some mercy not to laugh at him. She came over to check his face and after declaring "you'll be fine, darling, just a little bruised," she pecked a kiss on his nose.

Well.

Maybe running into the tree hadn't been such a bad thing after all.

Dwarves didn't dream, but Varric thought that this must be what dreaming felt like.

He'd never thought he would be with her like this, his face buried against her neck, fingers slipping inside of her wet heat. "That's it, sweetheart," he rumbled as her thighs fell open to make room for him. "Just like that."

Dragging his nose up along the silky column of her neck, he pressed a few kisses to her skin. Maker's breath, if he died right now, he'd die the happiest man in Thedas.

His other hand reached up to gently cup her face, then slide back so he could tangle his fingers in her hair. He ached to be inside of her already but he didn't want to rush things. Didn't want to rush that moment. Not when he'd been waiting for it for so long.
