Thoughts and notes on peeps and whatnot.
Lyriel. Sports a fairly underweight, malnourished frame. He used to be hand fed before and hasn’t quite adjusted to that change yet. Occasional picks at nourishment here and there until he feels guilty for doing something he’s not ‘supposed’ to. Rather than thinking about it logically it has become a habit.
His other reason being that the less he eats the less energy he will be giving out and if there’s nothing to feed said source then no rude electrical shocks. He’ll overcome that through the power of meditation and thistle. Lol. Mostly meditation tho if he ever stays still long enough.
Moving on to more symbolic meanings aka I’ve had too much time to think on this, acorns. Seeds. Potential. You plant them and voila get oaks, symbols of strength and longevity yadda yadda. Represents his youth, he’s 20(ish) years old at best and spent part of his childhood with loving parents and the other half getting bossed around.
He’s still going strong, beaten down by life but still hardy and stubborn as hell. I heard acorns are also supposed to be good luck and though his life has been plagued by unfortunate events in every corner he hit the jackpot with Tavesh. Bwau. x3
Lyri’s wings are small with long slender feathers. When I picture them I think of them more like feathers on an African Darter or a rooster’s tail feathers. Long, sleek and absolutely useless for flight. They would make great feather dusters I’ll bet.
More on education and family. Nobility. Privileged childhood, Till he was passed over anyways. Smart cookie when it comes to math, magic(‘science’?) and specially literature. He’s the third son of the Obaretto family, but never got to meet his two older brothers since they had perished way before he was born.
As for his assets well, he’s legally dead after disappearing (aka getting kidnapped) in Outlands. All that his family ever held was passed over to his Aunt and once she passed away I can only assume that the city took it. I mean entire bloodlines were wiped during the Fall, so it’s not entirely uncommon. His much hated cousin would later come back as a death knight, just can’t catch a break from this guy.
So where does the electricity come from? He got struck by lighting. Lmao. This was mainly inspired by my friend’s ex-bf who has gotten struck by lighting seven times. (Psychometry was a close second.) Lyri has a scar that looks like morning frost on the back near his rib cage. It’s more noticeable when he’s in disguise. I like to think he can tell when it’s gonna storm.
Speaking of scars and stuffs he also has an unfinished tattoo on his shoulder back. It resembles the point of an arrowhead, He’s terrified of needles so he’s never ever going to finish it. (Or who knows if he ever overcomes that he just might. Highly doubt it.) He has very faint scars on his neck from clawing at the collar that was once there, when it was starting to bite into the skin. His hair does a great job at hiding it (he doesn’t like tying it for that reason) and they’re more prominent on the back of his neck and behind his ears.
The nerves on his right ear are damaged from years of pinching and pulling, it’s quite apparent if seen face to face. He calls it a lazy ear. :’3
When frightened Lyri completely shuts down, he can’t utter a single word and completely detaches himself from the situation much like experiencing an out of body experience or sleep paralysis.
The currents he emits are directly tied to his energy source. So if he sits around doing nada he’s gonna start hurting (others) lawl. Likewise when emotionally drained or physically fatigued there’s none to spare. Safe wire.
In Outlands he was kept as a pet and still harbors habits and thoughts from that. He struggles forming his own thoughts and is always thinking about pleasing others. How selfless! Hah. This has been changing now that he’s exploring freedom.
When angry he has no filter. He will use whatever knowledge he has acquired in arguments often resulting in things he regrets but oooh it felt so good to say it then. If he stays angry enough he’ll start leaking fel from the cracks around his eyes. Said veins and open sores constantly ache, and he picks at them constantly. Same thing for the ones on his arms.
He’s pretty chipper for the most part, but whether that’s feigned or not who knows. He might just turn out to be as manipulative as the people he has encountered.
Ivenne. She has come a long way from the princess fighting in high heels, two swords on her back and cherry red lipstick. Bwau. I wanted to change her outfit to reflect on that but it’s hard to let go of my admirable younger creativity lmao.
Anyways the first time she is able to exert her newfound (magical ~*’) power she wrecks the area. It’s then her comrades realize that she’s not just some pretty face sitting on the throne, but an actual ally. Someone they can rely on. They also realize if she’s not guided now her loneliness and alienation? will be the end of her. Ivenne meanwhile is quite fascinated with the power she has been granted and tries to make the best of it regardless of all the nonbelievers. Forced to mature fast.
Yarkovsky. I’ve been struggling with his body type. Demon hunters value agility, Yar here is like 6’8-6’9 so that’s pretty tall to start with and he still has to swing those glaives around. I suppose that’s what the training was for.
He’s pretty stoic and reserved, just going along and doing his duty. Whereas Maoshka, his younger bro, can feel people’s emotions Yar can ‘see’ them. He sees it as an outline to their magic, sometimes the fields overlaps. It’s all kinds of interesting colorization and shapes, auras etc.
Maoshka. Yar’s younger bro. They’re quite aware of each other and still keep in contact. A performer… that can dance on his toes and stuffs… that’s code for WoW ballerina lmao. Tightrope walker. He’s a monk, so on the lean/toned side. Is an empath, can pick up on peep’s moods really quickly. Can usually tell when he’s being lied to too, the goods ones usually have him doubting.
Varteni. The more normal one of the bunch lmao. She’s quite naïve and shy at first but once she starts creeping out of her shell she’s pretty outgoing. It takes a while for her to build up her courage but once she gets rolling there’s no stopping her.
Usually runs into things while daydreaming. Has some pretty wild daydreams too, mostly about novel romance, meeting ‘the one’, or being some kind of hero.
And that’s it for now. c’:
