PNW Tumblroos...

hey tumblroos, mom has a Dr's appointment in Seattle on New Year's Eve, so I'll be driving her up on the 30th, spending that night, and heading down to portland after her 2pm appointment for the night. 

so basically I am just saying, if any of my Seattle people want to get together for a meal or coffee on the 30th (evening, I am sure) or 31st (morning), YES PLEASE!

and if Portland people (Lizz, I think it's all you right now?) want to get together on the evening of the 31st, I would love that though I know that's NYE and you might not be available.

Yesterday was the first day of filming for our documentary. Here we are, decompressing on a beach in Vancouver’s Stanley Park at sunset, with lots of tired laughing and relieved exhaling implied.

One of our interview subjects is leaving for London to do research on his next book in October, which is when the rest of filming is slated to happen. It was so scary to begin production while we’re still wrapping up preproduction, but that’s just me worrying too much. It was an amazing day, an amazing interview and we are so glad we started filming with this particular person.

Now to recoup from a twenty hour travel day with Battle for Middle Earth, tea and old movies.

Travel. Come home. Write. Plan. Research. Fill out grant requests. Grandma has a stroke. Grocery shop. Take dog to park. Travel. Come home. Meeting with client. Meeting with client. Meeting with client. Spend rest of day in hospital. Write. Plan. Sleep. Location scout. Errands. Chores. Play with dog. Photo shoot. Edit photos. Edit video. Write. Sleep. Travel. Ferry. One afternoon off at the beach, first time in a month. Travel. Home. Work. Plan. Write. Client. Client. Chores. Client. Sleep? No. Revision. Submission. Write. Mission statement. Grant forms. Plan.

Today. Wake. Write. Ignore dog and feel miserable about it. Client. Meet with important person about important film stuff. Reading tonight. Filming tonight. Beginning to feel stressed. Beginning to feel spread thin, like butter scraped over too much bread…

Cancels afternoon. We see The Way, Way Back. We have cheap sushi and expensive coffees. It’s wonderful. He’s wonderful. We are.

Back to work. Elliot Bay Cafe. Writing. Planning. Packing up. Busy night tonight. Will sleep soon. It doesn’t matter.

I’m compressing time by compressing words.
