i'm late about 2 hours but it's ok! that's a crappy comic!

if you can't read my handwriting here's a transcript. tis a scene from project hail mary and nothing more (ignore the directions this was what i used to draw the comic in the first place)

Vic: A-am I expendable? Is that why you want me?

Edega: That's not the only reason.

[Edega walks away]

Vic: It's almost like you don't care if I die!

[Edega turns around to talk to Ada and Ian]

Vic: H-hold on, you have to TALK ABOUT IT?!

[Edega turns back around while Paige and Ian give thumbs ups]

Edega: The consensus here is that it would be preferable if you did not die.

Vic: t-thanks, i guess

Please elaborate on android Vic I am a FIEND for sci-fi plzplzplz

oh no! unfortunately, uh, it's not very deep lol.

so vic is my internsona, right? well, i was taking inspiration of other things like herosplatlingreplica's intern (inny) and i wanted to make a sort of robot like design. but of course i didn't wanna copy the source material too closely on accident. and thus vic was born - an autonomous android with cool rhythm visualizer glasses. i didn't have much of a plan for them basically just "do rhythm" and i wanted them to do procedures by playing the keytar like a BADASS

however as time went on and i made vic have like feelings and stuff and i got more attached to them i went "i don't want them to be an android actually." im not sure why but i think at some point in time there was something that wouldn't make sense if they were an android. and thus the android aspect was poof gone. i think my favorite aspect of pre-human vic was the rhythm visualizer glasses im so sad i had to scrap those. it would've fit so well with rhythm doctor as a whole too...

vic likes singing but only when no one's home

but when they go out to karaoke with coda and their friends they actually participate, surprisingly. and they like willingly sing too, completely sober. despite being of age vic does NOT like alcohol. alcohol + karaoke kinda has the opposite effect for them than you would expect - the more alcohol they intake (not much, they are a super lightweight) the less they want to join in

they're really good at singing actually. they absolutely know how to belt and they're using t to their advantage. what do they choose? it's kinda scattered. showtunes, japanese songs and pop from like 20 years ago are their favorites but it depends on the audience. if it's only friends of vic and coda around hell yeah they'll choose that but if there are more strangers they will pick some more mainstream stuff too

whoooooo's ready for a PART II

SPOILERS FOR RHYTHM DOCTOR AHEAD! under the cut so you have free will

During 7-X/7-X2, if you recall, people's heartbeats and locations got mixed together. Everyone got linked, Vic included. Being linked with Literally Everyone In The Hospital is surely an experience. 

Anywho, when Ian put up the firewall, it did trap Connectifia for sure, but it somehow still had a weak influence on a couple people. Vic was one of those.

Soon after the incident, Vic started having flashes of memories. Memories that weren't theirs. They happened at any time, from when they were sleeping from when they were on shift. These memories could be anything from glimpses of previous patients to things that just happened. Later on, they would start seeing glimpses of things through a linked person's eyes for current events as the virus got stronger (which really helps in emergencies). The people they got linked with include:

- All of the doctors

- Mark

- Cole

- Lucky

- Nicole

- At least one of the birds

Eventually, it gets so bad that these people start physically changing places with other linked people in the hospital. 

It's important to mention that these flashes are painful considering that it's literally Connectifia linking to the host's heart and mind.

It's also important to mention that the other people (that are linked) also have these flashes. They aren't as strong considering that Vic is technically the host of Connectifia but they do exist regardless.

i realize that i draw vic more shapely now because of the fact that viclyn is more shapely now and it's all thanks to RYLAND GODDAMN GRACE and maybe a very cool artist i found on tumblr idk

i like talking about vic and coda and their alt versions and their differences so let's talk about their mannerisms and personalities

under the cut so you have free will

vic: shy, timid, generally afraid to get in the way or to be a burden. talks with their hands a lot. afraid to open up to people for fear of being pushed away or hated. #me fr fr

coda: outgoing and witty. cracks jokes and makes people laugh. talks with her hands a lot. also kind of a people pleaser. however tries to be serious at work and ends up becoming very cold and closed off because of it.

ledger: more serious and bold than vic. i like to think of ledger and segno as a vic and coda personality swap. has a "every person for themself" mindset and is very protective. cares about getting the job done before anything else (including survival needs, which means he frequently forgets to eat, drink or sleep). talks with his hands less than vic but has more vivid facial expressions than them

segno: basically coda if no work. same mindset as ledger while also being able to crack jokes and lighten the air. scared of letting down ledger or anyone they work with. also scared of injury a lot due to not being able to do certain things that people need them to do. talks with their hands as much as coda

viclyn: bubbly and full of energy, and generally wants to be kind to everyone. from the wide amount of pun shirts she has you can tell she's not afraid to lighten the mood no matter what happens. sure she still doesn't want anything bad to happen to other people, but also herself. she really doesn't want to die which was why she was so deathly scared of going into space. if there was a trolley problem she'd probably try to stop the trolley. or she'd try to untie everyone. i mean, none of those would work of course but she's got the spirit i guess

arpeggio: a snarky little freak. bullies people and makes fun of them and their flaws because that's their way of showing affection. will willingly offer to beat up people if they hurt their friends (example: they want to absolutely KILL emily)(more on emily later, i realize i haven't talked about her yet) hates death DESPISES death actually. well ok death by like old age is ok but for any other reason they always go "they didn't deserve this". just imagine how their life was like when their crew freaking DIED
