so i actually got some help from @mpendant ( who everyone should be following if they aren’t already ) on this team because she remembers SOA better than i did, so thank you diana! the idea here is for kellyn to still be a ranger while also having a pokemon team, so of course pokemon that can help him along the way! i thought it would be a bit more neat to have his team be separate from his partner pokemon as well. sawsbuck - a calm and well tempered pokemon to support kellyn’s dutiful nature and role as a ranger, not to mention a normal pokemon to match a normal guy hahahaha im funny. not only would sawsbuck be great as a ride pokemon or a pokemon to help move debris, destroy obstacles, and what have you, but aromatherapy would help relax an area of stressed pokemon (and people) quickly and efficiently! arcanine - a classic man’s best friend that also can function as a ride pokemon for himself or others. often characterized by their bravery and loyalty, this arcanine will definitely stick by kellyn’s side no matter how dangerous the situation is as long as they can help their trainer. mantine - he needs to swim? he needs to fly? why not a pokemon that can do both? a reliable pokemon that he doesn’t need to get worried about becoming irritated or overwhelmed in a high stakes circumstances like other water or flying types can become, nor do they have a combative nature to worry about either! golurk - “ Golurk were created to protect people and Pokémon. “ no surprise here why that might be a good pokemon for a ranger. collapsing buildings or falling trees? with their incredible strength, you can rely on golurk to save lives in these situations! plus, with golurk’s sturdiness and high hp, he won’t have to worry about golurk actually helping when it’s so dangerous.galvantula - galvantula’s strong webs can be used as safety nets as well as traps to ensnare targets when necessary, plus they’re a great pokemon for controlling and lowering speed in general! a pokemon that can crawl along walls will certainly be helpful, plus thinking of kellyn with a joltik is really cute. blastoise - so, from what i remember, kellyn’s first mission as an official ranger is to put out a forest fire with the help of blastoise, so having a blastoise on his team is a nice call back and also ties his team together well as a rain dance pokemon! full team build is here!
