vaughn x hector. please hear me out on this

OOOH okay wait wait I'm kinda into this I can see it

because you have a LOT of really interesting contrasting dynamics here:

you have insecure in his looks Hector vs knows he's not conventionally attractive but doesn't give a shit Vaughn

Hector based in the attic vs Vaughn in the basement

Hector actively goes out of his way to see and know everything that's going on, whereas Vaughn doesn't even leave the crawlspace until you've talked to him a few times

Vaughn who doesn't care how he or anyone looks, and is just happy to keep doing his thing

who can easily reassure Hector that looks don't matter to him in the slightest

Hector has been around Parker for years up in the attic, so its not surprising that Vaughn being a little unhinged sometimes doesn't phase him

and it's not unsurprising to do pest control in an attic as well as a basement! you can easily have things get into and chill in an attic so Vaughn going up there to do a pest control check is totally something plausible

instead of rats being the concern, it's squirrels, and they're just as bad

you have to worry about them chewing on wiring (for things like hector) or getting into insulation or making nests in bad spots

so that can be how they meet!

and then you have Hector who is poetic and a hopeless romantic now swooning over his knight in shining armor

and Vaughn who is blissfully unaware that he's seen Hector's "horrible visage" and didn't flinch in the slightest. just came in, checked on him, did his job and left after giving a fun little hello

Vaughn keeps coming to check in to make sure there's no pests and Hector is shy but conversing with him because he has to let him know if he's been bothered by squirrels or not

and Hector is so devoted that Vaughn is the type to be totally taken aback by it, because hes aware he's not conventionally attractive, and is extremely touched that someone likes him at all, let alone for his personality and commitment to his job

I can see this being so cute actually!!! Vaughn making Hector more confident and Hector being a very loving and devoted partner I kinda love this??

Some thoughts about my canon for these characters (even though my writing with them will probably be infrequent).

With Vaughn, I feel like, many of the Children of Helios died, but not all of them, and the remainder got absorbed into the Sunsmashers.

With Katagawa, he didn't die after his boss fight--he stealthed and ran away, assumed dead. He didn't actually die, but the war on Atlas did. His father refuses to allocate more funds on this ridiculous merger until Junior proves it's worth it.

Vaughn’s favorite music genres are Punk/Rock, Eurodance, Electro Pop & Chiptunes, and nobody can convince me otherwise

Rhys is way into Pop Rock, Dubstep, R’n’B & Rap stuff (but he’s ridiculously easy to get into every other kind of music)

Whereas Vasquez is more of a Jazz, Electro Swing, Trip Hop & Dad Rock kinda guy
