VAW 117 E-2C Hawkeyes off the Channel Islands  coast

ARABIAN GULF (Aug. 13, 2013)-

Aviation Machinist's Mate 3rd Class Christine Choi and Logistics Specialist 3rd Class Verly Dolce conduct maintenance on a wing of an E-2C Hawkeye assigned to the Wallbangers of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW) 117 on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68). The Nimitz Carrier Strike Group is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility conducting maritime security operations, theater security cooperation efforts and support missions for Operation Enduring Freedom.
