Katie waiting for the bus
Where to Start?
Well, here's what we did today, in summary: * We started off with a very nice breakfast in our hotel. * We obtained passes for L'Open Tour: a Parisian double-decker, open-top bus tour that runs everywhere in the city with four huge route that covers everything. We have a two-day pass, so we can go on and off the bus as we please. * We drove around the Bastile and Marais neighborhoods, Ile St. Louis, Ile de la Cite (where Notre Dame is), transferred at the Latin Quarter, continued to Montparnasse (it was on Boulevard du Montparnasse that Evan was the first of our group to see the Eiffel Tower - for which he earned 1 Euro), and arrived at Les Invalides - where we got off and walked around. * We boarded a different bus where we saw: the Place du Concord, the Opera, the Louvre, the fashionable left bank, and the Champs-Elysees. On the Champs-Elysees, we stopped off and lunched at the Cafe Georges Sanct (George V). * We walked to the Arc du Triomphe and then did a little shopping on the Champs-Elysees before hopping on our next bus. * The next bus did a very nice job of driving us all around the Eiffel Tower and stopping at all the nice picture vistas. After what seemed like ages we arrived. The lines were insane, so we instead opted to admire the beauty of the structure from below on the storta-grass, sorta-cigarette-butt Parc du Champ de Mars. * Then, we travelled down the Boulevard St. Germain before venturing back to our Hotel near Place de la Bastille. Fin. Now that all of that is out of the way... here come the pictures!
Paris: Day Two
Hey everyone - We covered a lot of ground today and there are A LOT of pictures to share. We'll post them sporadically tonight as time allows.
Random pictures from the first part of our walk
It was cold enough on the train, however, to force Evan to wear his new fiancé's sweater backwards :)
Au Revoir, Liberte! You have given us a lot of fantastic memories and delivered us to our destination safely. Merci beaucoup!
