with a new heard of baggage pooling around his shoulders, it was hard to make time for the regular events in life. originally he hadn’t even planned to go to any part of the festival, but previous events had the need to keep an eye on a certain fox who’d been coursing down a string of bad luck. one of those moments had the ghoul praying to a deity he wasn’t even sure he believed in to make sure he didn’t have to live the rest of his life without the only person that truly ever mattered. without wanting to be a hovering boyfriend, he decided to use the event to finally meet with a friend of his he’d only known through a screen.
he and maja had a friendship that only transcended across their various pc set ups. he’d only spoken to her over the glow of a discord screen or in the chat of a stream. they’d been brought together when kai’s developing group chose him, the youngest of the seven-some, to be the one to moderate her sponsored screen. so there he sat, as she played through the new call of duty battle pass, for hours. making sure the proper screen grabs and recording clips for promo were taken and jotting down and glitches or mistakes in the graphics he saw. he noted that she was actually pretty good and invited her to a few rounds with the crew whenever they both had a chance. those group rounds turned into just the two of them, talking crap over their headsets as they played through overwatch rounds.
the ghoul stood next to a few food stands, pulling out his phone to open his discord app to send her quick text where he was, snapping a picture of a korean corndog stand for accuracy. as he stood in the blazing summer heat he began to regret the darkness in his attire, settling down on the ground so he could lean back into the shade while he waited. // @vcmanikal
