VC Fic Rec Friday (....the return)

It's been an eternity since I've done this, but I want to bring it back because there's so much great fic in this fandom.

This one will be a bit of a mishmash because it's been so long, and but here are just a few of the great fics I've read over the past... *checks watch* many months! I have a long list so this is just the tip of the iceberg. I'll be back with more recs next week.

Such a fun lil fic. Like the first half is all 🥹🥹🥹 then it gets 🥵🥵🥵 and both are PERFECT! Sassy Armand! Leaving Marius speechless! Sooooo fun!!!

The text on my bookmark is literally just a bunch of 🥵 emojis, if that tells you anything 😅 Dani giving little brother energy trying to provoke Mariana, and it WORKS, and it's amazing! What can I say, I'm a sucker for some good ol' monsterfuckin' impact play 🙏

VC Fic Rec Friday - Valentine's Edition (Sort Of)

I have missed this the last few weeks as I've been recovering from a nasty flu. Zero stars, do not recommend. These are not Valentine's fics but because my two favorite soft comfort ships are Marius/Daniel and Louis/Armand, these are a few great fics that feature those pairings:

🩸 Crucible of the Flesh by @covenofthearticulate Very tense, sexy and lovely fic of Louis exploring his desires and vulnerability in Armand's very capable hands.

🌃 See You Later by @leslutdepointedulac Great missing scene fic where Armand and Louis discuss his departure for Court.

🎄Christmas in New York by @darkangel1791 Lovely holiday fic where Armand takes Louis around New York trying to get him out of his shell with ice skating!

Marius/Daniel

🏠 House Hunting by @fofoqueirah Marius and Daniel search for a house in Rio de Janeiro. Written by someone who's actually familiar with the area, there are a lot great location details in addition to this being a wonderful fic.

❄️ Red Snow by @this-writer-needs-coffee Marius cares for Daniel, who is lost and confused during his madness. Marius takes such good care of him.

⌨️ The Surface of the Abyss by @inexplicablepeas Another great fic where Marius cares for Daniel and uses a typewriter to coax Daniel out of his head.

VC Friday Fic Recs

Armand/Daniel

It's Armand and Daniel at a Renaissance Faire, what more do you even need? They wear costumes! It's also funny and heartfelt as Daniel and Armand both try to navigate the complexities of their strange relationship. Highly enjoyed this!

🌃 See You Later by @leslutdepointedulac

Armand/Louis

I don't know that I've seen a lot of fic that deals with Louis leaving Trinity Gate in the PL trilogy so I was thrilled to see this one. Despite Armand's anxiety about the change, he and Louis are so sweet together here and it's a very lovely fic that made my heart so happy!

🎻 Handspun Strings by @aunteat

Armand/Nicolas

This is a heartbreaking glimpse at Armand doing his damnedest to help Nicolas as best he can, with his characteristic dichotomy of tenderness and cruelty. He has so much love for both Nicolas and Lestat here, and this is a great exploration of their relationship during this very fraught time. Really love this one!

🛋️ A Deluge of Memories by @cinnamonclove

Armand/Daniel

In this cozy post-canon story, Armand and Daniel cuddle together during a thunderstorm and share stories about vampire legends and monsters. Bonus points for a Bigfoot reference. This is the soft Armand and Daniel reunion content I adore and I loved this fic!

Friday Fic Recs!

It's Friday! This week was absolute madness at my work so my brain feels a little like swiss cheese. I hope you all had a good week and are looking forward to the weekend. Also, just a quick note, I am going to forgo these posts for the next couple of weeks due to all the fandom events happening in the beginning of February, because I think there will be a SO MUCH amazing fic coming out and we will all be trying to keep up with it!

Now here are my fic recs this week:

🏢 Interludes by @sunshinerambling

Armand/Daniel - Set during QotD but after Daniel is turned I am a huge fan of fics that force characters to confront their past, and this is a fantastic story about Armand and Daniel doing exactly that, as they head back to an old apartment and rummage through the things they left behind before they head to Night Island with the rest of the Coven. It's got everything I want: humor, some light angst, amazing banter, and a sweet ending. If you have not read this yet, what are you waiting for??

📻 Daniel and Armand Fic Box by @ whisperbird

Armand/Daniel - a collection of ficlets and vignettes This is just a great collection of short stories. The first one is Daniel telling Armand how he first encountered death as a kid, the second is Armand's POV of finding Daniel in Lestat's house playing Louis' interview on tape, and that's just the start. There's a lot of great stuff in here and I highly recommend checking it out.

VC Fic Rec Friday

I've read a lot of great fics lately but here are just a couple that I've really enjoyed:

⛺ Jester's Privilege by @nothing-but-paisley

Armand/Daniel - The Chase Years - 1,913 words - Mature Daniel decides to celebrate the release of IwtV by going camping. Of course Armand shows up! He asks a lot of questions, naturally. This has such a great back and forth between Armand and Daniel and really captures their weird, fraught dynamic during this era.

🛣️ Lestat's RV by @calipsan

Louis/Lestat - Post-Canon - 1,336 words - Mature I have a minor obsession with RVs even though I've never trailed in one (perhaps because of that). So when I saw the title of this fic, I got so excited. But I love a lot of things about this fic: Lestat shirking his princely duties, Louis' initial reaction to Lestat doing something out of pocket... It's just a great, fun read!

🎶 Angel of Music by @bubblegum-blackwood

Armand/Marius, Armand/Daniel, Louis/Lestat, Armand/Daniel/Marius, etc etc. - Human Rock Group AU - 27,615 words - Explicit This is actually a sequel's to Teacher's Pet which is also great and I also recommend, but I'm a Daniel girl at heart and this is where Daniel joins the story. Honestly, this fic just blew me away. The relationships between all of the characters are incredible and true to form here but the dynamic between Armand/Marius/Daniel is just chef's kiss. The characterizations are spot on and the ways canon events and things are brought into this alternate universe are continually clever. Benji and Sybelle are cats! It's sexy, it's funny, there are heartbreaking moments and places where I laughed out loud. An incredible read start to finish in a very fun series!

VC Fic Rec Friday!

I've been reading the most incredible Marius/Pandora fic and I need you all to read it immediately.

So Falls the World by @monstersinthecosmos

Pandora/Marius - Explicit - 22,991 words

I actually have one chapter left but I didn't want to wait til next week to rec this (it's Marius week I hear?) and honestly I'm super sad it's almost over, I could read an entire novel of this.

It's Pandora and Marius in the post-canon or late-canon era while Marius is moping about Daniel having moved back with Armand. It opens with Pandora admiring herself in a strap-on and only gets better from there!

It's angsty and funny and sexy as hell. It captures Pandora's voice so well and Marius is so true to form in this. I love everything about it and you should read it!
