8. How does your character feel about religion? Like everything else in his terrible toolbox of tricks (scalpel, forceps, bonesaws...) religion is just another tool of the trade. Seeing as how he doesn't have the physical strength nor advantage of his colleagues and others in his "profession", Toller gets a certain amount of joy from being able to intimidate others mentally, and he recognizes the certain type of power that religion can have on a person. Religion is, in every aspect, a means of achieving his own gain. And yet, there is still a part of him that hopes that his soul will somehow be saved from it, which is why you can see him every Sunday in the back pew, eyes as wide as his smile.
28. Who is your character’s mate? How do they relate to him or her? How did they make their choice? Toller has no mate, and as of right now I have a difficult time picturing him having one, but if he did it would take a special type of someone to be able to handle everything he has to offer. He is secretive, obsessive, possessive, and controlling, which explains why he has never had a lover in his lifetime to date.
