hi! I've never played dragon age but i see so many gifs on my dash that I'm curious. where do you think i should start? I've read somewhere that you can play inquisition without the previous games. how good are the first two?

you might be able to play Inquisition without knowing anything about the previous games but I’d definitely recommend playing the first two. You’d lose quite a bit of context if you didn’t.

Personally, I still think Origins, the first game in the series, is by faaaaar the best one, way better than both DA2 and Inquisition, no competition at all. It’s a pretty cliche story but an epic one with lots of depth, great writing, memorable moments and some pretty damn awesome characters.

I’m not a fan of DA2 at all, I have to admit I actually consider it a pretty bad game with pretty bad rushed writing and a terrible aesthetic, but I still think it’s worth at least one playthrough for the companions and lore alone. and it has a lot of fans, so really, don’t let my opinion colour yours. It does introduce some fun gameplay mechanics too!

So yeah, if possible play them all and start at the very beginning :*

I HONESTLY DON’T KNOW whenever I try to make one it looks like a giant pile of garbage consisting of randomly thrown together pictures that don’t even remotely fit together, and let’s not even start with the colouring process. pretty sure it must be blood magic

hey! i started to follow you recently and i can see that you're a fan of many video games. Do you have favorites or can you recommend me really good ones? i played the witcher, bioshock infinite and mass effect. i really liked them. any suggestions what should i try next? (only on pc)

aw thanks for the follow then <3 enjoy your stay :DI am a fan of many a video game, true. and you already mentioned three of my favorites, especially the Witcher series and Mass Effect. If you liked the latter you might want to try the Dragon Age series, same developer so there are quite some similarities, for example in the companion and romance department. I’m not exactly a big fan of all three games (the first one is still my favorite and the sequels don’t even come close for me) but they are definitely enjoyable.

If you’re into rpgs, you might want to try the Elder Scrolls (with Skyrim being the latest addition) and Fallout series, but they offer a very different kind of roleplaying experience. I love both series to death so I can only recommend them. Vampire: The Masquerade too, but you’d have to ignore the outdated graphics.

For more Bioshock Infinite kinda games, I definitely recommend its predecessors, especially the first Bioshock. I’m not really a shooter kind of girl so I can’t really recommend you a lot of them, but if you want a real mindblowing experience that will make you sit there staring into the void thinking about the game for years to come, then I can absolutely recommend Spec Ops: The Line, it’s one of my absolute favorites.

Also maybe take a look at Remember Me, Dishonored and Deus Ex: Human Revolution, some more favorites of mine. the old Deus Ex games are pretty great too, or well the first one was, but they are oooooold and it shows in both graphics and gameplay. And if you’re into indie games, definitely look up Child of Light, Transistor and Ori and the Blind Forest, all of them incredible games.

I’m so incredibly sorry for the late reply! It’s been, what, weeks now? D: At first I had no time, then I was too lazy, and then I just completely forgot. I’m really really sorry dear Anon and I hope you’re still around :(

I haven’t played through the entire game with him so I’m not entirely sure about the later choices, he’s still preparing to attend Celene’s ball. He’s a bit of a big sarcastic grump who doesn’t talk much unless he absolutely has to, so I guess he’s not exactly the most exciting oc? :D He chose to charge with the soldiers during the prologue because I headcanon him as a trained templar who goes straight for battle rather than sneaking around some mountain paths, and he later choses to ally with the templars because well, they’re his order. Plus he doesn’t trust mages around that big scary fade breach, noone really knows for sure what it is and what it does and how it works but fade and its demons + mages is generally not the best combination soooo no thanks.

Actually, I don’t even headcanon him as an Inquisitor (although he obviously is in the game itself but you know how it is), but a companion/advisor to his childhood sweetheart and secret seeecret wife Asha Trevelyan. kingtrevelyan and I play the game together with the both of them and build our own little canon around them, and Asha’s the one calling the shots in the end. So obviously Rhys also doesn’t romance anyone in the game because he’s a good married boy who doesn’t cheat on his badass wife. They’re the ultimate battle couple :)
