you ever think about how Veah will be 10 one day? Y’know, about the age Ic was when their eye started bleeding? When they should’ve become Quixus? Should’ve died, shortly after? You ever think about how Ic (and Rae, to an extent) would react to looking at Veah, who’s such a sweet girl and wants to take care of her baby siblings and loves flowers and is just a kid who has her whole life ahead of her because she’s only ten fucking years old–
Ic was 10. Rae was even younger. Talk about breaking generational trauma cycles, huh?
Because Rae “remembers” Ic dying as a kid (Rae can’t even fathom Veah dying at this age and suddenly he understands Isla so much more), remembers being older than his brother ever would be, remembers being completely alone from the get go. And Ic? Ic knew that they were supposed to die young, that they were never meant to live this long and old, Quixus bullshit aside… but seeing how young Veah is? Maybe they understand Fable and his actions a bit more than they’d like to. Ic knows that yeah Midas messed up in so many ways, but seeing an actual 10 year old puts it into perspective— that there never really was a choice, was there?
