Persona 4 headcanon: Yosuke CAN tolerate soybean products, but only to a certain extent. If he eats too much, he gets really sick and can’t eat anything else for the rest of the day. He can, however, tolerate food like ganmodoki, and miso soup (the tofu chunks in the soup can be removed). Even then, he prefers if the tofu is kept to a minimum, or eliminated completely.
The reason why he can eat the ganmondoki when Yu suggests it during the visit to Rise’s parent’s tofu shop is because the tofu in it is mixed in with other ingredients. Silken (kinu) tofu and momen (cotten) tofu is just tofu straight up, he cannot eat them.
