John Rawls's thought experiment in his 'Theory of Justice' (1971) argues that if we imagine a proto-existence where we have to decide the rules by which we are governed that we would want our 'needs' covered by a coercive state.
In this video I argue that the same methodology can be used to justify a stateless society where the non-aggression principle is preferred as a rule of governance.
