Wearing this old girl again, and somehow have yet to properly accommodate for the work headphones with double wig situation. And the.. visibility issue.

UPSIDE, as I discovered by accident this morning, I can also use my costume to mop up spills (say, of a chai with a loose cover) and it just adds to the aesthetic :)

Finally got the shelves in at my workstation :D

(Keeping the more valuable figures at home cuz rowdy ass animators like to break into spontaneous Nerf battles around here and I sit right in the middle of the most crossfire...)

Moseyed down to California for a few days to clean out my old room at my parents' place and found my old sketchbooks still sitting around. So long old friends. The horrors you've seen will never look upon the light of day again.

"YEAH, ECCC, my first trip to a convention in years!" (2 hrs later) *back in the Airbnb, locking credit card in suitcase, already bought too much art and way too fucking many Iron Mans*

so second week on the new job

Our leads told the animators to convene in the screening/dailies room for a conference, so we piled into this small fishbowl room around the meeting table.  They played a little clip of the show we’re working on.

Then The Rains of Castamere started playing over it.

The windows around us opened from the outside, and they fired volleys of nerf darts at our heads. There were too many of us packed in to escape quickly, some took shelter under the table or raised chairs as shields.  

Somewhere around here, my roommate/coworker’s body is being carried off with the office dog’s head skewered on top..

Mwelp, it wasn’t an easy choice, but I took the plunge and made a decision based on a number of annoyingly grown-up factors and jumped on a longterm contract to animate for Titmouse starting this week.

So upside, it’s a great company that’s done some of my favorite animated adult TV shows of the last decade (Metalocalypse, Venture Bros) and the work environment is awesome and super chill! Somewhere around here, there’s a foosball table made of dildos or something..

Downside, now I gotta wait with the rest of y’all to find out how Rick Sanchez gets out of jail T_T

Blluuurrrrrghh I’d forgotten how miserable animating in Flash is after two years of working in Harmony. How do you kids do it??

Yeahyuh! Waiting to board a redeye to New York, to meeting up with the always fabulous @cinaed and @simplyirenic for some Manhattan and musical shenanigans. Specifically HAMILTON and ALLEGIANCE.

Any recs for fun stuff to do in the breaks between shows are welcome! (Also how’s the weather New Yorkers? Is a native Californian gonna freeze her ass off..?)
