Complicated. Steve is so use to the word, it's nearly embedded in his skin at this point. He never thought he would need to look at he and Bucky's relationship that way, but that is starting to ring true. Things are different for a lack of a better word.
Steve himself feels lost, now that Bucky is found. He expected something to right it's self in his chest but the lost look on Bucky's face just makes Steve remember that they're living in a different reality now. Steve's so worried parts of himself have died with everything that happened to Bucky. That is a thought so selfish and bitter Steve hates the thought of it.
How much did Bucky lose? For Steve to be worried, that what? A purpose or a journey was coming to an end? He isn't really sure what to place it, maybe it was the foolish thought of everything coming together in a happy ending with a bow. That was almost what Steve was expecting-- stupid. It was childish, and it was heart breaking to his the man he cared so deeply for looking like a lost puppy.
Steve couldn't allow himself to think of that now, not when he felt like he needed to help Bucky adjust. He has to remember not to push so much pressure on the man, something that Sam suggested ( Steve was struggling with ). He longed for the days things were different. It was funny now, the shoe on another foot. Adjustment. Something, Steve has long been accustom to with the future.
"How you feeling today Buck?" He offers greeting the man.
