快 Wi-Fi 100 倍！Li-Fi 用光線傳輸數據已現投入測試

隨著近年越來越多手提裝置能夠上網，因此不少家居及公司都會設有 Wi-Fi，其好處是數據傳輸速度比較快。不過將來無線上網的速度或可能會更快，因為早前有蘇格蘭大學教授就研究出一種名為 Li-Fi 的傳輸方式，並會以光線來傳輸數據，而且據知其速度比 Wi-Fi 要快 100 倍以上。

其實早於 2011 年時蘇格蘭愛丁堡大學教授 Harald Haas 就曾經公佈過 Li-Fi 這種全新傳輸技術，其最特別之處在於能夠透過智能 LED 燈發出的可見光傳送數據，而所使用的光譜介乎 400 至 800 THz 之間，由於光線移動速度極快，所以資料傳送速度會比 Wi-Fi 更快，而之前測試時更曾一度試過去到 224 Gbps，即快到可以每秒下載 18 套 1.5 GB 的電影。

相隔多年之後，來看愛沙尼亞的科技公司 Velmenni 最近就終於正式在辦公室內進行 Li-Fi 的測試，雖然受制於現實生活上的各種限制，測試時速度最高只能去到 1 Gbps，不過若然與 Wi-Fi 的平均速度比較，其實已經快 100 倍了。此外，雖然 Li-Fi 的缺點是不能穿牆（因為以光線作為媒介），一個發送裝置未能覆蓋所有房間，但這個缺點同時亦帶來好處，皆因到時室外的其他人會使用不到，變相可大大提高網絡的安全性，能避免外人截取數據。
