DICKS OUT FOR LEO
@velocialpha
“Do you have names for all the dinosaurs, or just your pack?” It’s a simple question even as she looks over the rails of the enclosures to the dinosaurs roaming around below them.
She wants to think she’s a better judge of character, but a moment seven years ago isn’t enough to provide answers to the man that had almost content to abandon her and others on an exploding island. Claire tries not to focus on the past, not when so much of it no longer matters. It doesn’t matter, whatever she believed of Mills, or in the story she had been fed. There’s the fallout and her foundation to return to. There’s an interest in an activist that isn’t actually dead but Claire just wants to go home. Maybe for a week, maybe forever. She’s stitched up, she’ll heal and now - now she’s just tired.
❝ If I hear you say bed rest - I swear to God, Owen - I will scream. ❞

She had come to quite literally stumble upon the unconscious man, after hearing angered shouts and a roar that sounded very much like that of a Hollow. There has been no indication of any in the area - but that did not mean that there in fact were not - their presence had gone undetected before, the sensors in the device that had been tucked safely in the pocket of sundress she was outfitted with was simply a tool. Not to be replaced with the sense and sensibilities of a Shinigami, and it was always best to investigate to be certain. In order to do so, she would need to move further into the wooded area of the park - to a place where she could hide the gigai loaned to her for the day outing - she had been so excited to get going, that she had neglected to bring the Pupples dispenser along with her. Without the soul candy or the mod soul to take her place, she would have to leave the gigai behind. Unattended, and out of the sight of humans who would assuredly be alarmed by seeing Kisuke Urahara’s handiwork - when not occupied by a soul - they took on the appearance of a human that was no longer living. As she searched for a secure spot, she nearly tripped over him. Lying face down in the dirt. Without a second thought, her training in healing kido took over and within a span of a few minutes he awoke.
A gentle hand pressed to the man’s chest, the look she saw in his eyes was not confusion or shock as she expected. It was fear, and a tremendous amount of concern. Both which did not seem to be directed toward himself. She too had been concerned, curious to know what had occurred to land him in such a circumstance. What the source of the screeching roar had been. But the first order of business was to make sure his injuries were tended to. Her voice was soft, soothing. “I did not see anyone else…or an animal. Just try to relax, you took a pretty hard blow it seems.” A soft, green glow emanated from her hand - which hovered to mend the fractured bone of his forearm - a defensive injury to be sure, the assailant no where to be seen. “Can you tell me your name? What happened to you?”
She hadn’t meant to. It was something she did out of panic. Everything just hurt so much that she . . . shifted. Right there on the table, while blood dripped from the open wound. While Zia had a pair of tweezer beneath her skin, digging out the bullet.
The pained roars of an injured raptor changes to that of a young girl. Cries of pain can be heard throughout the cargo ship but no one investigates. Blue lies on the table in ragged clothes, cover in blood and sweat, the color drained from her face. She’s trembling, her eyes shifting between bright yellow and dark brown as they land on her Alpha. A shift and a scream rips from her, pain shooting up her body.
The sounds around her are drowned out by the ringing in her ears, her body jerking as she tries to get herself away from the thing that’s worsening her pain. IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS MAKE IT STOP OWEN-

@velocialpha gets angst
she’s cold. she’s soaked. she’s in pain. she can’t stop shaking. she doesn’t know where she’s going until she’s there, standing on his doorstep, arms around herself as she waits for him to answer the door. claire’s not sure how long she’s standing there, tears streaming down her face with a sorry excuse of a jacket wrapped around her body is a last ditch attempt to keep herself warm. the moment the door swings open and she sees him standing there, she almost starts crying again, doesn’t move, barely looks up at him as she speaks, “ i didn’t know where else to go. ”
