That first bullet point. Man, I wish I had known in college I would never again have that much time just to write. I would have taken it much more seriously.
Seriously. Time and energy. The time is the big thing, but even when I stuffed my schedule, I had enough energy to carry me through, and I sure as shit don’t now.
In undergrad, I was an officer in two clubs (the film society and screenwriting club) and my fraternity, a regular member of two other clubs (poli sci and the org that brought movies and shows to campus), an intern at a magazine, and a working freelance screenwriter. All at the same time while being a full-time student, maintaining a social life, writing my own personal projects, maintaining a blog (with way more frequent posting and way more original content), and making music. I would legit die if I tried to do more than two of those things simultaneously now.
