How are you finding Pokemon Sun/Moon?
Overall I’m really liking it. It’s cute and fun! The best bits
I really like the Alolan Pokemon designs
I like the Pokemon refresh - hugging pokemon a+++
I like the character designs as well. Team Skull is the best, Hau is a cutie and I’ve loved all the captains so far
The whingey bits
I feel like a lot of the UI could be refreshed and built from the ground up. Certain bits feel too married to old Pokemon aesthetics. (Like there’s 9(?) lines of onscreen text to pick up three berries, are boxes really the best way to sort Pokemon that aren’t on your team, why can’t I give a Pokemon to the nursery directly from a box etc)
Z moves seem gimmicky? I suspect they may have been inspired by Yokai Watch’s Soultimate moves which work better mechanically. OTOH, when I have a gripe about a kid’s game I think its worth wondering how kids might feel about something. And I’m sure there are gonna be kids learning the Z move dances and loving the shit out of them.
