Creed’s Justice Venator guilders watchmen
Getting things done✨. This week is a BIG release week for a lot of amazing author friends. Today my doll, @devriwalls, releases her second #VENATORS book, PROMISES FORGED. I seriously loved the first book and am so excited to pick up the second. Congrats Devri!!! (check IG stories for details!). Then on Thursday the powerhouse @quirkybird releases the final book in her #RLC series, WELL SUITED (still up for pre-order). How can a gal keep up with all the awesome reads and ladies📚❤️😱?! Battle in the Underhive! Because I haven’t painted Eoton-Weard yet, it makes for some boring photography. But @littlemangsofwar has done some nice work on his House Escher ladies, so it is worth showing them off a little.
The game itself was a lot of fun. Squats are tough as nails, with their toughness 4, so the Escher lasfire mostly succeeded only in singing their body hair. My grenadier, Æsċfriþ, spent a lot of his time pinned down, but when he was able to fire off some frag grenade shots, we got to learn the rules for falling off - as you can see in one action shot above.
The highlight of the game was when the Escher lieutenant overcharged her plasma pistol in an attempt to take out Dryhtric - the weapon sizzled burning fire at him, engulfing the space dwarf in blue plasma, but it also exploded and melted half the true-human woman’s face off. We both went out of action! Hilarious!
A few turns later, @littlemangsofwar voluntarily bottled. We were playing the game as a one-off, but he’d lost three ladies, including one to an incredibly lucky lasgun shot through hard cover.
In terms of gameplay, it has been a very long time since I played the original Necromunda, but this seems very much the same. We didn’t get to play with melee at all (as Dryhtric got knocked out before he could try out his counts as-servo claw bionic hand) but I vaguely remember the old-school Necromunda melee rules as being a fucking pain, so I’m sure that’s fine.
I need to come up with colour and basing schemes for these Squats!
