Iris's Book of Dares || O P E N
Spending her days working in a mostly-empty bookstore (although it was filled to the ceiling with books) wasn't exactly how Iris planned her summer, although it could have been worse. It couldn't have been much more boring, but it definitely could have been worse. Hunter, one of the other employees, made it more bearable with his unnecessary completely necessary sarcastic commentary whenever a customer entered.
With her pretentious taste in books and coffee and indie music, the Betwixt was the perfect place for the little hipster. She was there from the time it opened (eight in the morning) till the time it closed (ten at night) when she could be, spending her off-time in the coffee shop to which it was adjoined. She loved it, as boring as it could be at times.
She did, however, eventually figure out how to make it somewhat better, although it would likely take a while. She gave up her favorite notebook (it had Ariel, her favorite Disney princess on it), writing in it: Hello, darling shopper. You probably don't know me, and I probably don't know you, but darling, I am bored. Painfully bored. Care to help with that? (no, not like that, you horrid debauchee). I check this book everyday! Leave your name and age, and come back tomorrow.
She left it hidden stashed between two books that were, admittedly, very out of place, although that wasn't important ---- See Me, a novel about an arranged marriage to a leprechaun, and If You Could Be Mine, which was centered around lesbian Muslims, and if someone wanted to read about either of those, they were definitely her type of person.
