Venom loomed over her and she knew this could end in only one way. She would be devoured, consumed, eliminated by it, by Venom. Blood dripped from the gash on her forehead into her eye, obscuring her vision. 

"Venom." 

The name was hissed between clenched teeth. She was going to die here, sje was going to be torn to pieces like a piece of meat. They always knew it would end like this, she knew Mac would be the death of her. 

Or maybe…

He could be her savior. 

"Venom," She said louder, catching his attention this time, making him pause in his advance. "I’ve got a proposition for you." Her stomach churned at the thought of it, but she couldn’t die yet, not now, not when she had so much she needed to do. Any existence would be better than simply dying. 

She took his lack of attacking as a sign he was listening and she continue. “Mac is weak. Mentally. Physically. He doesn’t have what I can offer you.” She lifted her gun and leveled it to where Mac would be, should Venom recede. “Access to SHIELD, freely. No one would know you’re in me. No nodes. And I wouldn’t be weak and accept such a limiter.” 

The black goo was receding now, her words struck a chord apparently. Soon Mac was standing in front of her, looking angry, belligerent, and possibly a little scared. 

"Y’can’t be fuckin’ serious, listenin’ to this bitch. She’s —" He met Natasha’s eye and she gave a grim smile. His words died in his throat as he looked at the gun, swallowing hard. 

"We both knew it was going to end like this, Mac." she said quietly. "I just always thought it would be you, killing me." She pulled the trigger, three times, a cluster in his chest. No black came to shield him. 

He stumbled back and hit the ground hard and Natasha went to stand next to him. A moment later a black tendril latched onto her leg and she closed her eyes, sucking in a breath and letting the symbiote engulf her, trying to ignore the tight ache in her chest. There was no going back, now.

Bite the Hand that Feeds//Venomousscorpion

She smoothed a hand over her thighs and the fabric of her dress. This would be over soon. A date, just a quick date -- it meant nothing, it would lead to nothing. Consider him a mark -- maintain that level of disconnect. She paused and drew a breath, letting it out slowly before stepping out of the car. 

Natasha never dressed down -- not for Per Se -- even if she was forced to go on a date with Mac. Half of her expected him to not even show up, the other half thought he'd end up sauntering by in ripped jeans and a polo a half hour late. 

In one hand she held her clutch (which had, among other things, a small caliber gun and one of Tony's credit cards) and her other smoothed her fiery locks down as she looked about the sidewalk for Mac, before deciding to wait for him inside, out of the cold. 

She was greeted with the familiarity she deserved in the establishment -- it was her favorite, hers was a face they saw often -- and told the maitre'de that she was waiting on someone. She settled herself down at the bar and ordered herself a drink and hoped things wouldn't go bad enough she could never return.

Eat Your Heart Out: Take Two//Venomousscorpion

"How much oversight does a dude with an eyepatch have?" Just muttered in his drink. Mac had always found Osborne creepy but had agreed to the implants nontheless because they had promised him one thing: freedom. And now Fury stepped in and tried to take this freedom from him again for something he hadn’t even done. Fury wanted him back on the Raft. Him, not Carnage. And he had a vague idea why.

"He won’t loosen the restrictions, you and I both know it. He either wants me back in the can or defeated by Carnage, one way or the other. And chances are that that will happen, implants or not." He emptied the second glass but the booze didn’t seem to hit home at all. While looking for the true murderer, Mac had hoped it would not be Carnage. The minute he had found that it was no other, he had panicked a little. "Fury blames Venom for Carnage, thinks it’s responsible for Carnage bein’ here. An’ he might be a lil right here but it’s still not fair to make me suffer for that shit."

"Look", elbows rested on the table, gaze scurrying, Nat could probably tell that Mac felt uncomfortable to let her in on any more details. Only that he had no other choice if he wanted to get out of this alive. "I’m not the first host. Before me, Venom had a guy called Brock, you probably heard of him. Brock went to the same brig as Kasady few years back. People thought Venom was dead by the time but turned out it wasn’t, came back and got Brock out. But Venom left somethin’ behind. A part of itself, if you like. And that bonded with Kasady and tadaa, Carnage was born." A simple lesson on how symbiotes were made. While it was true that Venom had been the first to ever come to this planet, it surely wouldn’t be the only one and Mac had no clue how many others had found their way here yet but one thing he did know: Carnage had once been a part of Venom. And it had started to grow stronger. "Maybe Fury hopes that if Venom dies, the offspring dies too."

Natasha knew a worryingly little amount about the symbiote, even with the dossier Fury had provided her all she really knew was that it was sensitive to certain things but he never quite told her how they could be killed. That being said, when Mac began to elaborate on how symbiotes were made, she paid strict attention. 

She didn't miss how uncomfortable discussing this made him, which made her listen all the more close. He was disclosing information she could potentially use against him, and she wanted to be sure she could do so to the fullest of her abilities. It was a disappointing amount of information, however, and she was no where closer to discovering the best way of killing a symbiote... 

"Would he be right?" She asked, brows raising. "Does Venom have that sort of connection with Carnage? Is there any connection at all?" She didn't like the position Fury put her in; he wanted her to investigate the murders but he never told her it was a ruse to pin it on Venom. Did he lack faith that she'd find out the truth, or did he think she'd simply sweep a threat of this caliber under the rug? 

But if Mac faced this thing with those nodes in him, he would be destroyed, utterly destroyed and she had nothing in how to dispatch it... and he was right. Fury wouldn't lessen the nodes hold on Mac. Really, it left only one option and it was not a pleasing option at all. Cut the things out -- but that meant she'd have to trust he wouldn't finish what he had tried to do earlier and eat her in a single bite.

Mac & Natasha, Zombie Apocalypse AU!

It was always going to end up like this, they both knew it, even before the outbreak. He gripped her chin hard and pressed a kissed to her lips, forceful and biting, as if trying to expel the virus out of her through sheer force of will; she was more passive, already accepting her fate and laced her fingers in his hair. “Make it quick,” She said finally, and she made no move to defend himself when the black overcame his skin and he descended on her.

"I don’t see why we don’t just put him down. He’s a liability. He’s chaos incarnate. There’s no guarantee those shock nodes will last forever, and the second they’re—"

"I made up my mind, Agent Romanoff. Now I suggest you spend less time complaining and more time observing.” Fury said with the calm an ocean had before the storm struck. 

Natasha ground her teeth and stormed out of his office. Mac, he was a threat, he was only cooperative because he was shocked into submission. How could anyone trust something as unpredictable as him? 

But orders were orders and she would observe him. Her car was parked outside of the dive bar he was fond of frequenting, and she watched for any signs of trouble… but so far, nothing. She checked her watch, and by happenstance just so happened to glance at her wrist and her heart skipped.

She started at the voice, turning to look at him. Dark hair, dark eyes, and a smirk that really ought to have rubbed her the wrong way. She was caught off guard, mouth opening before snapping shut and she looked back at her wrist. 

Mac’s eyes followed hers and he raised a brow before hiking up his own sleeve. “Well, would’ja look it that. Now there’s another reason y’ should let me buy you a drink.” He grinned, displaying those oh so pointed teeth of his. 

Natasha was fucked, utterly fucked. But she never did things half way, so she drew a breath and sighed. “Fuck it, why not.”

"Mac." She didn’t realize how much she had missed the man until he had suddenly disappeared from her life. She tried to conceal a smile, but couldn’t, and shook her head, stepping aside to let him enter her apartment. "I’ve been well —" A small meow, and Natasha looked down, a black kitten rubbing against her ankle. She knelt and scooped it up, holding the squirming creature to her chest. "This is Liho, no he’s not food and yes I will notice if you try to eat him." she pinned him with a look. "How’ve you been?"
