it’s a genuine life goal of mine to live somewhere that isn’t culturally christian. i am so tired of living somewhere where proselytizers stand outside grocery stores handing everyone they see pamphlets or spend all day yelling through microphones and speakers on my college campus. i’m tired of that being seen as them being kind for trying to save people, to the point that it’s seen as rude to criticize them for it.
i’m tired of christian nationalists harassing queer people and using their power in government to codify the belief that christianity is the only correct option and everyone outside of that is degenerate. even the kindest christians have the belief baked into them that every non-christian is going to hell for all eternity, creating a culture of fear that pressures them to proselytize. it’s exhausting. i want out
