VENTURIS VENTIS

so, i FINALLY finished this!

so, there you have it. the new title. VENTURIS VENTIS. after rather a lot of research and basic latin lessons from my mum, i have finally decided on the new title for Roses Are Red. 

here’s a little background info...

venturis ventis literally translates as, to the coming wind. 

in the bible, there is this whole thing about the east wind. in Exodus, Moses summons the east wind, which brings a swarm of locusts to Egypt... and also helps him part the Red Sea. so it’s really powerful, and really important. 

while it did help Moses and the Hebrews (or the Jews) escape from slavery in Egypt, it also did bring about one of the 10 plagues of Egypt. for this, the east wind is often seen as an evil and malevolent spirit, that brings destruction and ‘damnation’ to everything in its path. 

however, the east wind isn’t always evil.

“the east wind will bring judgement on all unrighteousness that exists not only on the earth, but also in the earth.”

so essentially, it rights injustice... by completely destroying it. 

i thought this was the perfect way to represent odessa’s odyssey, by literally making her journey the course of the east wind, as it sweeps over the earth and brings judgement to all unrighteousness. i have a heck of a lot planned for odessa, and it’s going to completely change who she is as a person. the discovery of eurus (all will be explained in due time) is going to be what gives her the incentive to complete her odyssey. to bring judgement to the unrighteous. 

i chose VENTURIS VENTIS because it sounds kind of intimidating. ‘to the coming winds’ just has an eerie feel to it. like you know something is coming, but you’re not quite sure exactly what. 

in short, it sums up odessa’s odyssey perfectly. i thank my dad for encouraging me to watch the tv series Sherlock, as it gave me a lot of inspiration for the new title and exactly what odessa’s odyssey is.
